If Fastpass are gone by noon...

Planning on an afternoon/evening at Epcot with the adults that will be traveling with us. We would obviously love to go on Soaring, but Fastpasses will more than likely be gone by the time we arrive.

My question is can I come to the park in the morning and get my Fastpass as well as use three other MYW tickets to get a Fastpass even though those three people are not physically 'checked in' to the park at that time?

We would return in the afternoon (all of us) to use our Fastpasses, but it would be easier if just one of us could run in to the park to get them.

Hope that makes sense!

No, I think you have to use the passes to "gain entry" into the park first before they can be used for fastpasses.

I don't know, I understand what golfer is saying, but I think it should work. You just need to make sure you're back at the right time. I know that you can usually return after your FP expires, but I've had some CM's say "sorry" when it's past time.

We were not able to pick up our friends fast pass. I asked why not, and the cm told me that they must have been used for admittance..to stop people form using AP's and OP's passes to get more than their fair share. Makes sense.

That is correct.

But I've read here several times that if you find a sympathetic entrance-gate CM a explain what you want to do, s/he can scan all of your tickets "in" (even if YOU are the only one actually THERE) so you can get FP's for your group to use later.

The problem comes in because even IF you do get this accomplished (and you might NOT find a CM who will help you do it) the FP's you'd get would likely be "expired" (past thier use-window of time) by the time your group actually came into the park later in the day.
If it was any other ride but SOARIN' (or EE in DAK) I'd say not to worry about it as the CM's don't mind if the FP has expired... But on SOARIN' when its very busy, the CM's sometimes hold the times more strictly. (I have used expired FP several times on SOARIN' but it was not so full as to have the FP's "run out" those days.)

So, lots of "ifs" in this plan... you can decide if its worth a try.

I believe when you scan your park ticket to get into the park it sort of 'activates' the park ticket. Making the ticket 'available' for using at the FASTPASS stations. If this makes any sence... You can only use a park ticket that has actually been used to get into the park. It's getting late. I think I've forgotten how to think and type at the same time. :teeth: Maybe someone else can explain it better. :confused3

If they're not in the park and you try to get FP's for them the paper will say "THIS IS NOT A VALID FASTPASS".If you get a nice CM to give you FP's then you're pushing you're luck, but you're not supposed to be able to get them if they're not at EPCOT.

Thanks for the quick replies! I also thought about them expiring before we were even wanting to go to the parks.

On our last trip, my husband and I went to Epcot at 5:00 and happen to run in to some lady who had extra Fastpasses for Soarin'. We walked right on with a regular wait time of over an hour. What luck!

If you can't get Fastpasses without the tickets first being scanned for park admittance, would I be able to scan four tickets at the park entrance without having anyone else with me? Probably not, but I thought I would ask you all!

I appreciate your help. You people know everything!

I was at Epcot on May 19. I didn't get there until around noon, having gone to MK that morning. I went to Soarin' soon after getting there to grab a Fastpass, and the return time was something like 3:40pm. So they did still have some left. I would go and check it out to see if they have them.

I was over in WS at my return time, trapped and unable to get back. (Really, I was probably around Italy, and Canada and the UK just looked so far from there, and my feet hurt so much! That was the low point of my trip.) By the time I worked my way around to the Land, met my friend and ate with her at the food court there, and went to use my Fastpass, it was sometime after 8pm, closer to 9pm. Illuminations had either started or it was getting close, so the line was thinning out a little, but it was still fairly long. They didn't say a word about my Fastpass being old, and let me right on. I don't know if they even noticed the time. So they aren't always sticklers about it at Soarin'.

This won't work either. Each ticket must have the finger scan to go with it.

If you're that concerned, just get everyone to the park early to get your fastpasses.

That's not a problem with a simple push of a button by an entrance CM.

That's what this whole thead is about.
There are ways to make this happen, but it requires finding a sympathetic CM to help you at the gate.

I simply would not EXPECT it to work (meaning I would not RELY on it in every circumstance), but I've read many accounts of guests finding a way (without really "cheating") to get everyone in their party FP's when not all of them arrived yet.
