If CC gets hammered? Where will the upcoming cruises go?

I read on the DCL site that the wonder will hit Cozumel Mexico? IS it possible that the upcoming cruises would go there as well? Just curious? I bet this screws up thier entire plan for awhile if CC gets hit as hard as it did in the past? I pray it doesn't but again, it can't look good at all with that monster hovering RIGHT OVER THEM!!!!!

Also glad to see that Disney is offering discounts and credits... Gotta admit.. A stand up company.. Weather is an ACT OF GOD and to hear of them doing this is quite nice of them... I know you paid for it.. But hey thats why they suggest travel insurance right? Still stinks that some had to cut thier travel short or for some extend it? I pray that the 19th Wonder sailing stops somewhere? Not an entire 4 days at sea?

We're on the Sept 9 Wonder and live in the Florida panhandle. My first concern is the safety and well being of everyone. I am also worried about getting to Port Canaveral. (Some storm tracks have Frances passing over us on Mon.)

With all that said, I wonder if ours will be a cruise to nowhere too. I'm not sure 3 days on the ship is exactly what I had in mind. I'd really like to stop somewhere too.::MinnieMo

Ditto on that sentiment, Honeychild! :(
spankey - where did you see that the Wonder will go to Cozumel? Is that only for the 4-day sailing?

Kalypso - The Wonder will call on Cozumel on Saturday, 9/4. This was just announced by Disney.

The at sea days are our favorites on the Magic so I'm sure a cruise to nowhere wouldn't be so bad!! At least it's a cruise.

Yes, Beth - I am trying very hard to hold on to that sentiment - we are determined to make our cruise next week...even if it goes nowhere? it still beats my desk at work :)

I'm trying hard also. We missed CC on our FIRST cruise back in February due to high winds. It's not looking good this time either.

My first concern right now, though, is my family in Debary, Fl. and everyone else in the path of this monster.

We're on the 9/9 Wonder, as well - our first cruise. Told DH we may cruise to nowhere and he said he hadn't wanted to get off the boat anyway. So, he'll be happy, which is what worried me the most. And I had been wishing we had 4 days instead of 3 so we could do more things on the ship, so I won't be upset, either.

We're both so stressed from work right now we don't care where we go or what we do!

Here's to still hoping Frances does something completely unexpected - dissipates or heads northeast! I feel for you Florida folks.

I am not disappointed about Nassau at all...but we were looking forward to CC...but as you said, Beth - we are looking forward to this cruise no matter WHERE it goes! LOL.

I am sending prayers and pixie dust direct from the Mouse Factory in Burbank to all of you in Florida :(

What a crazy month! I'm cruising next week so I'm wondering when everything gets back to the "normal" schedule.... where will I END UP? Hopefully there will be a Castaway Cay. If not I sure hope it's not just a fun trip at sea. See what I get for posting this signature on my time clock 7 months ago?????

Well, all I can say is, this will be the last time we book back to backs in hurricane season. It is always a gamble, I know, but geez....did Frances have to hit this year? We have a three week Disney trip planned and wow, this could put a dent in things!

As I am saying this, trust me, my thoughts and prayers are with the residents of Florida....including my grandparents, aunt and uncle and cousins....(I am praying just as hard that CC is left unscathed, too!:worried: )

All I can say is that I have vacationed many times this late in the summer and I've NEVER had a problem! What a crazy end to summer!!

Again-

In no way shape or form do I want to sound selfish.. If a cruise at sea it is then that is all well and dandy... I know Disney can NOT control the weather and what not.. I hope for everyone's safety at hand for one.. Just curious if they would take us elsewhere if the bahama's get damaged badly?

I hope no one thought I was only thinking of myself.. Heck like stated anytime away from the desk is better than sitting at the desk itself! THATS FOR SURE....

I sure hope if we remain at sea they have ALOT OF FOOD FOR ME!!! CAUSE I'm GORGING MYSELF!!!LOL LOL...:sunny:

Either way I am going to have fun with the wife and kids.. This is mostly for them anyway.. My son turns 9 while on the cruise so I hope they do a little something for him as well.. That would make his DAY!....

Spankey, be sure to tell your Head Server and the counselors in the Club about your son's birthday. DD had a birthday while working in the Club in June and the other CMs put birthday stickers on her like they would for one of the kids.

I am keeping all the Florida residents and those in the track of Frances in my prayers.

That being said, I will admit that I badly want to go to CC. I don't mean to sound selfish, I hope that I don't -- but just honest.

I live in the midwest and we get those horrible tornadoes in the spring/summer. If there are tourists in Chicago during a tornado warning, I wouldn't hold it against them or think lesser of them if they were bummed at not being able to visit the Museum of Science & Industry or Lincoln Park Zoo because there was a tornado warning out.

I certainly wouldn't think that they were being callous and not worrying about the safety of the residents and our homes because they expressed disappointment at having to stay in their hotel room (or basement as the case may be) during their long awaited, anticipated and much $$$$ spent vacation to Chicago.

Know what I mean?

I think we should all be "allowed" to ~cry~ here if we want to! It helps with the pent up stress of upcoming vacation. Let's face it, even though we are all joyfully looking forward to our cruises big time, there is still a lot of stress as the day approaches. This hurricane scare is adding to the stress and we need a place to vent.

It does not, in any way shape or form, mean that I don't care what happens to the Floridians just because I am worried about my cruise or about CC being there when I cruise.

Prayers are being said daily for those in the path.

Hugs to all! Kris

Just watched a live report from CNN on Abaco Island, Bahamas - which I guess is right in front of CC - dare I say it didn't look like things were being totalled there? Palm trees losing fronds, wedding gazebo was tipped over at the resort where the woman was reporting from -- but not more than that.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!!!
