For the last 3 weeks, my sister and I have been dealing with our two aging grandmothers. For the first 2 weeks, the problems surrounded one grandmother, and now the other one has been having issues as well. While dealing with the symptoms, hospital visits and depression of these women, we've also had to evaluate everyday if we should phone our parents and bring them home from Florida to help deal with the situation. We didn't want to cut into their vacation time if it wasn't necessary. We haven't called yet, but have come very close.
To top it all off, our grandmothers don't get along so we've had to keep them apart somehow. Other family members have been involved as well, but we've had to be careful with what info we share to each family member (due to the 'feud' between the grandmothers).
I was coping pretty well until today. I just snapped for some reason, but I need to pick myself up. One of my grandmothers is going in for another test next week (to see if she has cancer) and I need to be strong for her. I'm spending the night with her to keep my eye on her. The last thing she'd need is to see her granddaughter in tears. Thanks for any hugs or PD you can spare.
