If ADR at 4:15...

I was able to get two ADR's for restaurants that I wanted (Coral Reef and Tutto Italia), but they are on the early side (one is 4:40, and the other 4:15). I worry that we either won't be hungry for dinner yet at that time, or that my DS will be napping and we won't make it there in time for that ressie.

When you have an existing ADR, are they ever flexible with you? Will they let you push it back, or not usually? Just a little nervous about those times...

thanks

PS -- hoping to sit by the tank for Coral Reef -- how are they if you request that? pretty accomodating, or no?

It could depend on a lot of things, but I've read that they'll only hold the ADR for 20 minutes.

I'd move the ADR time if at all possible. We always go back to the room for a nap/break, and we never make it back to the park until about 5:00 or so. It's so hard to know what they're going to do, isn't it?

Yeah...that's usually us too. We go back to nap or at least rest, so I really don't want 4ish ressies, but for 12/7 and 12/8, that's all I've been able to find! I will keep trying to find something in my timeframe (5-7pm), but I'm not holding my breath! I was really hoping for Chef Mickey's for bfast on 12/8, but that too was a no-go. :-(

If there was availablitiy in the 5 - 7 PM range they would have given YOU the ADR at that time. What they are telling you is those times are already filled. I do not believe they will accomodate you if you simply try to go late and according to your schedule.
Keep trying to get something that works for you and if these ADR's don't work for you please cancel them so someone else can use them.
Have a Great Trip.

I'd go ahead and keep the ADR's right now if they have slim pickens for ADR's during your trip and you really want to go to these places. What I would do is just start calling every few days to see if they've had any cancellations for the time your looking for.

Also if you decide you'd like to try some other places or be open I'd ask what they have available on that date and the time your looking for and the park you'll be in. Good luck!

Yes, I realize this. I was just wondering if anyone had had any luck with calling to ask for some flexibility if a child is napping, for example. I don't expect them to accomodate me if I show up at a random time.

I had a list of quite a few places that would have been OK, but there was NOTHING available during the dinner hours on 12/7 or 12/8. Pretty surprising, but I do believe him, as the gal yesterday said the same thing. Either early (like 4ish) or late (like after 8) ressies left. He mentioned Nine Dragons, but my kids won't eat that. We have to eliminate some stuff in Epcot b/c of the menus. ;)

I'll keep trying...would much rather have Chef Mickey's to get in one more character meal too.

I also suggest trying to call back every now and then and hoping something opens up.

If it doesn't - I still think you can have GREAT early dinners. When we've had ADR's that early we usually skip lunch (unless it is unhealthy for someone in your party). But you can do it as healthily as possible. We'll either do a later breakfast and then be "okay" before dinner. If we are eating breakfast earlier, we'll share a lunch (like sandwiches, etc.) or do a healthy snack like granola bars, nuts, etc. If we are buying from Disney we've shared turkey legs, pretzels, etc. Something that has protein to hold you through your normal lunching hour is good. (And if I were honest, I would say we had some not-as-healthy snacks too! :lmao:)

As far as the rest goes - just plan to rest earlier than normal so you feel like you still get the full rest time.

I'm hoping something opens for you, but if it doesn't - enjoy those meals!!!!

Also keep an eye on the December ADR thread for anyone on the Dis who is giving up a reservation on that day.

You are actually worrying about something that hasn't happened yet and might not even happen at all. You can control what you eat during the day so you are hungry for your reservation. I just made a reservation for 3:50 at 50s and we're just going to snack throughout the day as we see fit so we are nice and hungry for a big meal.

For your son still napping, I'm assuming that would be in your room. *If* he still is, you would have to make the choice to wake him up and hope he's fine by the time you get to the restaurant, cancel the reservation all together from the room, or cancel if your son is still crabby when you get to the restaurant.

For Coral Reef, you can request at check in to sit by the tank but there are a lot of people who do. You will probably have to wait for a table.

While my DH and I can eat that way, my kids (6 and 3) really cannot. We've tried stuff like that before (eat a large breakfast for example, so we could eat a later lunch), but they don't seem to be that flexible. They still want meals at their regular times. Routine, I guess.

Thanks for the info about the tank. I'll keep that in mind.

maybe try for TS lunch rather than dinner then go take naps, maybe that might work better for your family

good luck

Shortly, anyone that is cancelling a package for that time period will need to do so. WDW gives people around 2 weeks beyond their cancellation date to pay. So you may some opening in the next two-three weeks. I would hit the phones daily.:) I bet you find something.
