Not if, but when Disney decides to build the next DVC resort, do you think that the resale price of the timeshares at other resorts will decrease?

I am currently on a wait list to buy at BWV. I don't know if I should wait if this is a possibility in the next couple of years.

I don't think you'll see a drop in the resale prices just because a new resort is built. Resale prices are "supported" by Disney through the ROFR process and, as long as Disney exercises its ROFR on low priced contracts, the effective floor won't change.

Resales prices have never dropped in the past when a new resort was added- they have actually increased in their resale value.

At some time the value will likely decrease as we get closer to 2042, but I don't expect that to happen for a number of years yet.

I wouldn't hold off a purchase with the expectation that the price will decrease.

New resorts ultimately mean higher prices and likely continued ROFR. It will likely keep prices higher, not the other way around.

I would guess it depends on the resort. If the new DVC resort is awesome with widespread appeal, direct theme park access, Stormalong Bay type pool and great dining then it could de-value the other properties. Why would anyone go the resale route if the newest offering was the best DVC Resort to date? Lack of demand for the "other" DVC Resorts could lead to a slight decline in resale values. DVC wouldn't let it go too low but lower. They won't ROFR points just for the sake of doing so, they need to have demand for those points.

We've already seen this a little. BCV commands a much higher price than OKW simply based on location and amenities. Personally I prefer OKW but that is an entirely different thread.
