If a code comes out can i apply it to my AAA package?

Right now I have a room only AAA rate booked through Disney and I have decided we would like to include dining so I am going to cancel my room only through Disney and book with AAA. My question, if I do this, and a code comes out (not room only,some sort of package code) can I apply this to my package through AAA? Or would that only work if I booked the package through Disney directly???

This has worked for me twice. The first itme was two years ago, I had a room only ressie for WL through AAA, then a room only code came out, I called my AAA TA and told her the code and asked her to try and apply it. She thought I was nuts but it worked, we stayed at WL in APril for $165/night! Then last Nov. my friend had a package booked through disney with the MYW tickets plus dining. I saw the code on Mousesavers and told her to call. The first person she spoke to told her she could save $175 but she would have to switch from one AS resort to another. She said she would check with her family and call back. She go another CM who told her she did not have to switch resorts and the savings would be $250.00. Needless to say she was exstatic and thanked me over and over. It was her first Disney trip and that just added to the magic.

You can have your AAA agent add it directly to your reservation. I wouldn't cancel my reservation with Disney before you book your new package though. Just in case what you want isn't still available. Your AAA agent may be able to just "take over" your reservation with Disney. I have done this in the past, they have a form to fill out and may save you some trouble with refunds/credits rebookings etc.

Thanks for this helpful information. I haven't and won't cancel until I know that AAA can get me the resort that I want.

My AAA agent told me if a code comes out, she will gladly apply it, but likely it will be a choice between the AAA discount or the code, whichever is the better deal but not a combo of the two.
She could very well be wrong, I like her but she isn't a Disney expert.

She's right, an AAA agent can try to get another discount applied if it comes out. Remember- the AAA discount is a "code" so they would just call Disney and ask them to switch it to a different code.
