Idiots on Kali River Rapids

I am glad you brought this up, it brought back memories of our last trip. I too packed the cheap WalMart ponchos, the clear $.78 ones. My husband had eavesdroppers at Epcot laughing because he said we all looked like giant sandwiches running around!
But I put mine on before riding KRR, amist the laughing and jeering of my family. So I took off the hood to appease them, you guessed it, I was the ONE that hit the major drop off. The water came up over me and went down my back.
A suggestion to those riding: put your camera and other things that can't get wet into a gallon size ziplock bag before boarding. I also packed sandwich size baggies and recycled our "sandwich" panchos.
We are going back in October and I can't wait to ride it again, this time with the hood!

I too buy the dollar store ponchos, you do still get wet. I than make friends with people on line to go on and give away my used ponchos.

My big tip: we are a backpack family. I bring a large black garbage bag from home. Place backpack in bag, twist top and it insures the camera and everything else stay dry.
