Hi there,
Planning our next trip and always like to have a rough idea of directions from the airport. I have looked at a link from the kissimee192 site which shows step by step pics but that seems to confuse me even more!!
Basically this time we arrive at Orlando international as opposed to sanford. Is anyone able to give me easy to follow directions from there to Indian creek?? with a rough guide of tolls we are likely to expect on the way. Would realy appreciate some experienced help. Many thanks, Rachaelx

ps... a word of warning to those waiting to book airport parking and hotel they are selling out fast. We are going next may and i was unable to get the Hilton instead having to stay at Lemeridien without parking. Going to treat ourselves to taxi ransfers after our awfull drive back last time.Guess it may be because its half term week but as they say book now to avoid disappointment!!

if your car hire is ofsite it will be easy go down sand lake road (left if using doller) untill you hit i4 and head to disney easy peasy

From Orlando International Airport, take the 417 Central Florida Greeneway toll road heading south (it's clearly signed as you leave the airport). Leave it at exit 3 onto the Osceola Parkway heading west.

You will cross International Drive South (with Gaylord Palms on your left) and then pass over the I-4. You will then pass through the 'Welcome to Walt Disney World' sign ( ) and will shortly see Pop Century on your right, quickly followed by the entrance to Wide World of Sports on your left.

Stay on this road following the signs for Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge. As you approach AK, the road forks - right lanes for AK and left for AKL. Take the left-hand lane for AKL and stay in the left lane, turning left at the lights onto Sherberth Road. Follow this road for about a mile until you hit the US192. Turn right at the lights onto the 192 and move over to the left-hand lane as soon as you can - you need to turn left at the next lights onto Formosa Gardens Boulevard. As you turn into it, you will have Red Lobster on your left and Taco Bell on your right. Follow this road to the four-ways stop sign (right of way is in order of arrival - just give way to anything there before you and take your turn). Carry on straight over the crossroads and the entrance to Indian Creek is just a few hundred yards (ish - I'm not very good with distances!) on your right.

You can use the Sherberth Road for accessing WDW throughout your stay.

The tolls on the 417 vary between 50c and $1.25 and you will need around $4 in total.

totally unrelated to your question, how do you all manage to drive on the wrong side of the road without getting into an accident?

when I'm in the UK, my mind goes numb just as a passenger.....

Actually, it's surprisingly easy.

I was worried about this the first time I went to the States, but it turned out to be second nature within a matter of seconds, both in the car and on my bike (did a cycling tour in Hawaii once).

I actually have more problem as a pedestrian as instinctively I look right first when going to cross the road when in the US I should be looking left THEN right!

I find the "wrong side of the road thing" okay Beth, what I can't deal with though is not having a clutch, LOL

not nearly as much fun as driving manual is it.....but then again, i bet when you visit places like san fransisco, not having a clutch isn't an entirely bad thing....
