Identifing Diser`s

went in January and wore a lime (-ish) green t-shirt until it was nearly walking off of me...not a word, or a look, although there were some who didn't want to sit next to me by the end of day 2...can't say blame them...the t-shirt had become it's own ecosystem

Bright/Lime green has become such a popular color I know that I personally wouldn't approach anyone based on the color alone. I would have to see the Mickey Head, or something that said DIS to make it a positive ID! I don't want to look stupid trying to talk to someone that just happened to wear a green shirt/cap/bandanna etc.. that day.

I did recognize one "boarder" because her dd was wearing a custom shirt from the DISign board.

I've found this subject of interest after contributing so much to this board and knowing just how many Disney fanatics are on this forum. At every turn, I have this weird feeling that there is a DIS'er somewhere around me...haha. I was in line for Peter Pan's Flight during my last trip and I was staring at this couple with lime green shirts on. I was thinking, over and over, to myself that they just had to be board members. Of course, I didn't have the gall to ask and I was too far to reach them anyways. It was kinda nice feeling that little sense of community just for a couple of mins though. :goodvibes

We have run into two DISers. Both sporting lime green ribbons/buttons. I can't remember their names now because it has been awhile. I approached them and sure enough they were ultra-friendly wonderful DISers just as I suspected. One lady actually waited outside with me at Mission Space while her daughter rode it and my DH rode it. We were chicken-DISers. All I remember about this nice lady was she was staying at POP and it was just her and her daughter. Who was really cute and bubbly by the way. The other person was outside the bathroom at POC. I'm not shy, so if I see you wearing green mickey heads, ribbons, buttons, shirts, I will approach you. You have been warned.

I wore my laminated mickey heads this past December and met two DISer's. One in the hallway at the Wilderness lodge, and one standing in line waiting for the wristbands at MVMCP. While DH & I were waiting in line at MVMCP...DH was talking to this really nice lady while I was taking some pictures. I join the conversation and noticed the gleam of the mickey head from her bag. I asked "Are you a DIS'er?" ....yes....and I whipped out my mickey head. It was like a secret badge of honor :rotfl2:

My next December trip I am definitely ordering the lime green DIS shirt. It's really cool to meet people from all over the country and know you have the same Disney interests!

I've met dozens of DISer's, some because of lime green paraphernalia that I or they have been wearing. Official DIS buttons, DIS shirts, and Mickey Heads are pretty much unmistakable. Lime green ribbon is iffy for me - it's used too often by non-DISers to just mark their stuff.

On our last trip I had a green HD mickey head on my backpack. Someone asked if it was for the DIS and I said yes. It was kristatx, towncrier and two other women (sorry, forget their names.)

The wierd part was - in September of 2004, at Millionare, the girl in the hot seat had a DIS pin on so after the show I went up to her and a guy she was with and it was the same kristatx and towncrier!

They are the only people I have ever met because of my green mickey head and I met them twice!

Is that wierd or what?
 Hey! It's me again :teeth:.

I did approach a DISer last June, while waiting to do Soarin'. She gave me an odd look, so I backed off. She had the HD Mickey on her backpack with some lime green ribbons, so I figured it was fine to say hi. Guess not.
Hi up there, Diane :wave2:. Thawed out yet??
Maybe you met bytheblood :confused3.

I do have some green mickey heads on my bags, but will not tell anybody if approached that I am a user of the Disboards. I like my anonimity. :teeth:
Surely that smilie at the end means you meant that as a joke .

I hit Home Depot today and got a couple Alien green Mickey heads for our trip 3/3 to 3/13, so if you spot a short woman pushing a lime green and navy stroller with an occupant that has to say hi to everyone (and if you ignore her she says it louder, ain't toddlers great?) that would probably be me.

Please come and say hi, you'll be saving me from my mother who invited herself along on my trip with my wonderful inlaws from England.

I posted a couple lime green Mickey's on my window at POP, and my next door neighbor left me a note when she moved in telling me who she was from the Dis. We never managed to "see" each other, but we passed some goodies back and fourth hanging on our doors. It was fun, and even though we didn't have any grandkids with us, we got pleasure knowing her kids were enjoying the exchange! We had been given some "goodies" from a show being taped from Family Fun (yuck..it'll never make it IMO..no where as good as the magazine) and we were able to pass those over as well as the lastest issue of the magazine. She shared some great chocolate covered pretzels.

What a great storey! It was kind of like you had a secret pal at WDW. I'm going to HD tomorrow to look at microwaves. I just may have to pick up some lime green Mickeys to put on my window at Coronado Springs.

DD and I will be there from April 2 - 11. I think this trip I will take my small backpack that I always carry while in the parks to our local air-brush booth at the mall and have a lime green Mickey head with DIS in the center air-brushed on as large as pssible. We have tried lime green ribbons and laminated Mickey heads on past trips with no luck.

I will be there April 1-6. If I see you, I WILL say hello! I will have the LG Mickey head on my backpack.
Jessica :thumbsup2

Last September, I taped my lime mickey ears to my hotel window with my NC State, just hopeing someone would see me. Plus, I had one on my backpack and no one noticed:( My husband thought I was crazy!

A total aside but...... GO Wolfpack! :D

(Saw them destroy ECU at Bank Of America in Charlotte in 2004 when we were there to see the Panthers - thought you'd enjoy that.... :goodvibes:)

If I see you with a green ribbon I will approach you and say hi!!
I have met many Diser's this way including the famous Dan Murphy!!! :thumbsup2

I have tied a lime green ribbon to my backpack everytime I've gone to Disney World. Last year I even added the Mickey heads from Home Depot. No one has ever come up to me to say hello. However, I did run into a fellow Diser a few years ago at Epcot. She was wearing a T shirt with the Dis on it so I said hi.

if I saw the light green id say hi!!! this will be my first trip as a DISer, so ill see if i get to meet anybody

Total overkill... Last year, before I ever got on this board, I was picking up clothes for our honeymoon (just to treat myself), and I bought a lime green outfit! Jeans, a top, sandals, a purse, the works!! Now... boy will I stand out! I will be screaming DIS!! :rotfl2:
