Identifing Diser`s

Dont understand why you wouldnt admit to being on the boards or revealing your username. whats the the point in wearing green if you do not want anyone to approach you.

I agree - why bother wearing anything lime green at all if you don't want to say who you are - especially the paint heads - THAT certainly HAS to be just a DISboard thing.

I am looking forward to speaking with anyone on the board when i go in Sept- please feel free to come right on up to me :wave2: - however- i think we all use a board name to keep our anonymity if not we would all post our full names.

as i said- i am going to put my mickey heads on my luggage and backpack- please come up and talk to me- sure i will even tell you my real name- but my board name is private.

but thats just my thoughts.

Well, of course, now we will all know that if we meet someone who won't mention their DIS username, it's madhatir. :rotfl2:

That's funny!

Madhatir, what do you say when people ask you your screen name? I wouldn't want my family to know mine, because then they'd see what a big geek I am around here. So, I wouldn't want to answer the question.

But how could I not tell a DISer my name?

BTW, I never approach people wearing lime green. Did it twice and both times they thought I was a crazy woman.

We wore custom MNSSHP t-shirts in October, and met a few DISers. MagicKingdom approached us at Fronteirland, and we met Steamboatmarti. We also met a few others at the ticket kiosks. We walkd around ASMo, but didn't see anything DIS. We did a few of the shirts, and will probably do more this November.

I have had lime green ribbon on my backpack or stroller before but no one has said hello thus far. I have had a few people approach me at the Adventurers Club from recognizing me from my site however. :)

I just returned. I had 3 Home Depot Mickey heads with DIS written in the ears and PrincessAurora written in the head. Lucky I did a bunch because I lost two. I met "Loves2Scrap" at the WL bus station. She was there with her family on their way to WCC. She had lime green ribbons with DIS written on them. It was GREAT! I also think that Princess Aurora from my Norway Princess breakfast either posts on the boards or reads them as she made a point of saying that she liked my "lime green mickey head". Do it! You never know who you will meet! Also at MK on Saturday I saw a stroller with lime green ribbons on it but the owners were on a ride.

I had a HD Mickey head on our stroller, lime green ribbons and a lime green bandana. Nobody talked to us. BUT on our last day strolling through our food court came a gal with a button on with DIS. My dh thought I was crazy but I stopped here and introduced myself. It was fun talking to her. We both gave out our screen name (best I could remember, lol). :thumbsup2

Kimmikayb,
Are you talking about me? :wave2: I think I am the one you met at ASMo food court? You couldn't remember your screen name, but it did contain "kim" so it must be me!

I ended up meeting 3 DISers this trip. A very brief hi to Princess Aurora (I think when I got off the bus at Wilderness Lodge) and someone else who I met in the bathroom at Whispering Canyon Cafe--don't think I caught her screen name--but I recognized her adorable daughter's "Disney stick family" t-shirt from the Disign board. We chatted for a minute, but she had to get her little one to the stall!

I did see a large family group at AK on Monday with lime green bandanas, but wasn't sure if they were DIS or just trying to stay together. I also so a big group at Epcot on Tuesday with lime green tshirts, but again, no obvious DIS sign, so I didn't approach.

At the end of my week I was getting very tired and cranky, so I took off my Mickey head and put it in my pack, because I wan't feeling social!

I was really excited to finally meet others!

:bounce: DD17 and I did the Home Depot Alien green Mickey Head thing. I made labels on clear address labels with our screen names on them. I laminated them and used my Mickey hole punch to poke holes in them and attached them to my backpack on our October MNSSHP trip. I only met one other DISer who was a Grand Marshall in the parade who asked me about it. It was great, I was so hoping to get to meet some of my DIS board junkies! I'll be there again in May and I'll be wearing my Mickey Heads...If you see me....Please say Hi! I'd love to chat!

Can't believe that Princess Aurora and I ended up posting here back to back about meeting each other! (we must have been typing at the same time!)

All together now. .

"it's a small world after all. . ."

Which reminds me (totally off of this topic!): I was sitting next to a lady on the bus one night last week and of course did the "where are you from" and she was from Bloomington, Ill. I grew up in Central Ill so we were chatting. Then I hear a man standing on the other side of me mention to someone else that he is from Ill. I butt in and ask him what part and he says right near Bloomington!

I then introduced him to the nice lady next to me and they start talking and find out they are in neighboring small towns and she knows several of his cousins and they also have some other friends/acquaintances in common!

NOW that called for a round of "it's a small world"!!! (so of course I had to start singing-lucky they didn't throw me off the bus! ) :rotfl2:

I wear lots of lime green because it's one of my favorite colors, and I tied lime green ribbon to my backpack on our last vacation but no one introduced themselves. I did meet a very nice gentleman who had on a DIS t-shirt though. I will sport my green again on our trip this week ~ hope to meet you! :wave2:

Dave forgot fellow Canuck MaryLiz at MNSSHP and Angiebelle and boyfriend (eventhough we did not know Angiebelle was a Dis'r til we got home) Maryliz and I PM'd each other to discuss costumes..given Braeden was the only TOT bellhop it was easy spotting us!

The last 2 years I wore lime green on both trips, but lime green had become a popular color during that time. I suspect that it was chosen as "the color" because no one used to wear it! Now alot of people do and I was afraid to approach anyone with it on. The mickey head would help though. :sunny:

HEY it is us!!! I was so thrilled to meet you and my husband was even a little impressed I spoke out. Have any plans on going back soon?

I happened to be at HD this morning to get some paint supplies and thought I'd pick up a couple of Mickey Heads in advance--they were all gone!

All three shades of bright green were out of stock, but none of the other colored Mickey Heads were gone. So where are all these DISer's sticking these Mickey Heads if we can't find each other?! There is no way that Alien Green color is popular enough as a paint choice to merit the disappearance of those Mickey Heads!!

I don't want to be identified. Some newbie might run up to me and ask "So can you tell me everything there is to know about Disney in 30 words or less?" :rotfl2: I would probably runaway screaming and run into the stitch ride by accident and die by chili dog aphyxia.

I just finished up 3 days in The World. I did not know about the HD mickeys in time to go get some. I was wearing lots of Lime Green, but had nothing to definitively identify myself as a Dis'er. I saw lots of other people wearing lime green, but it seems to be a popular shirt and jacket color. I didn't see any HD mickeys. I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping to meet some fellow Dis'ers. Oh, well. There's always next time.

I placed on order on the webiste. Will let everyone know how it goes. Here's hoping for the best.

Hopefully, I will be wearing lime gree Dis shirt come 5/5 to 5/11.

They must still be taking orders at disshop, I got a shipping UPS shipping confirmation.

Will let everyone know when I receive the order.

I'll post picture of t-shirt.

went in January and wore a lime (-ish) green t-shirt until it was nearly walking off of me...not a word, or a look, although there were some who didn't want to sit next to me by the end of day 2...can't say blame them...the t-shirt had become it's own ecosystem
