Have booked flight for next July - DH, DD (10) and myself -only going for 2 weeks this time tho":sad2:

Was thinking of booking OKW for first 5-7 days with free dining etc, and am looking possibly to stay at HRH for last 2 nights of holiday for FOTLP.

So...that leaves me with the middle part - We will have a car but DH doesnt like to drive too much on hols, so where would be the best place to stay to cover Seaworld, Discovery, Busch Gardens and Kennedy SP. Any ideas on hotels folks or would a villa be best for that part. Am also trying to keep budget reasonable this time - but i do sooo like the good things in life :goodvibes. It sooo good to be planning again!:banana:

Is it not worth just staying at OKW? £120/night including all your food.
You can probably do it offsite a little cheaper but for me its not worth moving(we hate moving hotels)
You also get the free parking in Disney while onsite. 14 day ticket is same price as a 5 day so you can spread out your Disney visits rather than doing them all at the start.

We have booked for 16 nights at OKW - DH was suggesting a couple elsewhere then 14 onsite but once you have factored in the free food/parking/hassle of moving it didn't make sense.

If you do fancy moving a villa or condo would be a good choice.

We got a good price for a floridays condo with thomas cook online - they seem to have sales regularly.

The only thing thats stopping me staying for the full 2 weeks is that i dont think we would benefit from the free dining, as we would be at other parks - but i spose weighing up the pros and cons it would probably cost more going elsewhere AND having to buy food on the odd day.

I think you may be right....I noticed you have stayed at OKW, is it nice compared to other resorts - i mean is it worth its luxury status - offer seems to be too good to miss though - was thinking of a studio for the 3 of us. Your trip sounded very good Wayne - where are you thinking for next year?

The days you are at Busch & Seaworld you can still get back for evening meals, Busch closes at 6pm some days even if you stay til closing you have time to get back to Disney for an evening meal, even easier from Seaworld. DC closes at 5pm.
What you might miss is lunch but then we do some meals that require 2 credits (Yachtsman, Hoop Dee Doo etc) the CS credits you have spare can then be used in evenings you are short on TS credits. Last year we did 21 nights at OKW, credits were spot on without having to buy a meal. This year for 16 nights we had 4 CS credits we could not use for the day we were at Busch, could have used them for breakfast any day we wanted but we don't eat breakfasts.
You do need to plan the credits/meals but we work them well.
We are just in the process of deciding on next year but its looking like OKW again 21st July~11th Aug.
Everyone has different ideas of luxury, I don't think its GF luxury but its a very nice resort, to stay in that standard offsite and eat that well offsite would be very difficult for £120/night.

Thanks everyone.

We usually stay on site including last year at OKW. We have also stayed at WL, VWL, AKL (boma) and AKV (Kidani) and POR, all are nice. The reason I mention our previous stays is that OKW is a great resort and perhaps in the same league as some of the deluxes but to my surprise it is the fav resort of our 13 yr old daughter.

It might be worth mentioning, just in case, that OKW is a resort complex and not a hotel; you will not be able to jump in the lift and pop down the the lobby, shop etc
