Ideas to entertain a two year old in line

A strong second for TourguideMike!!! We stood in very few lines... and most of them were moving, so we were walking through the waiting area. When we had downtime, we:
- fed the kids (4, 3 yrs.) - couldn't keep enough calories going in them - carried lots of snack variety. We were leaving the park by 1ish every day and would go back to condo for a 'real' lunch then.
- magna-doodles
- looked at the park maps and talked about what we did/where we were going
- looked at pictures from last visit - I made double prints, hole punched them and gave them their own 'books of pictures' to look at.
- hung out and people watched - made up stories of where others were going and what they were going to do.

Can someone please fill me in on what Tourguidemile is? Where would I find info on this. Sorry, I am new here. :confused3

tourguidemike.com is a service originated by a former CM -- essentially, the website plans, based on your itinerary, where to go first (attraction-wise), what days to attend various parks, and most importantly where and when to avoid lines. Its a fee-based service - costs about $20 which pays for all of your research until your visit to Disney (and 30 days after).

I have used it twice and both times swear by it. If you are a good planner and read all the other resources, read all the posting boards, you will probably get the same advice. I didn't have time for that - instead, based on the type of family (small children vs. those riding thrill rides), he will give you specific itinerary advice. Its been well worth the $40 total investment I've made!!!

sorry to be off-topic.

I also saved happy meal toys as 'surprises' for unexpected delays while traveling (before my kids figured out that happy meals come with with toys :).

Thanks! This is the first I have heard about this. I will have to check it out.

How long will the lines be in June? Where did I see that EM is Friday at MK?

We are staying at CBR. When should we be in line for the early opening?

Hi, we just went with our DS2 in February. He turned 3 while we were there. This is what worked for him:

Leapster (didn't use it as much for lines as we thought more for on the plane)
Spinning tops- waiting for parades
Fruit Snacks his favorite...wish I would have brought more!
Pez Candy
Suckers
Gummy worms- work well on the plane too for popping ears.
Any new toy!
Bubbles (small bottle)

My son did very very well! I was shocked he is not patient and does not sit well. He waited for almost every show (only got antsy waiting for fantasmic towards the end of the wait 45 min of waiting!). He learned very quickly that he waits and then he gets to do something fun! He did not sleep well at our hotel room. He did a little fussing every night. I didn't mind this since he never had formal naps...just fell asleep in the stroller. I took him out and about a few weeks before our trip and got him used to napping it the stroller.

I would make good use of the fastpass. I makes the lines much easier! My son loved the pooh ride, peter pan, dumbo, mickey philharmagic, buzz, all parades favorite was evening one at MK, living seas at epcot especially Crush, MGM Pizza planet, Little mermaid, Playhouse Disney (sit in the middle or back for both Little Mermaid & Playhouse), Fantasmic, AK Lion King show, Pocahantas show, etc. I wouldn't waste my time w/ Tarzan Rocks, no one in our family liked it.

If your son is still in diapers...it worked well for us to make up diaper packs.
Inside a quart size ziploc pack the following:
Diaper
sandwich bag w/ 2 wipes (one for DS & one to wash hands)
Disposable changing pads (Babiesrus had a decent priced large quantity)
My DH did a lot of the diaper changing while I helped my DD. This was really handy.

I also brought disposable sippy cups, the milks are huge at the parks. I would divide the milk between my DS & DD.

If you are staying at a Disney hotel they also have guard rails you can ask for them at the front desk.

Sorry for all of the rambling.... Have Fun! :earboy2:
