Hi ladies! :)

My scrapbook room is officially becoming the baby's room in a few short months. :goodvibes So, I used to scrapbook in there on a foldout 6' table & now that I'm losing that room I have no idea where/how to set-up a small scrapping area! :confused3 Our house is small - just a kitchen & living room downstairs & no basement.

So, those of you without a designated scrap/craft room...where do you scrap? Has anyone found a small & affordable desk that can easily be stuck in a bedroom/living room corner? Any ideas are greatly appreciated!! :)

We have a large table in the living room that I scrap on. And I do a lot of scrapping in the kitchen because I like to stand. My stuff is stashed in a bookcase in the breakfast nook.
Do you have room in your living room for an armoire that swings open? We had one for our computer a long time ago, it had a swing out table and then the top had 2 doors that opened and folded back.

My stuff is all over the dining table and stored in totes around one end, with other stuff on the sewing cabinet behind where I sit and on the buffet next to the dining table. If we're all eating I take the stuff off the table and put it in the conservatory (otherwise we perch down one end ;) ) if we have guests the totes get moved to the garage too:rotfl:

Before my scrapbooking room, I used to scrap on the coffee table, but whenever I was done, I had to put everything away. IT seemed I spent more of my time unloading and putting away my materials.

Thanks for the ideas so far! :thumbsup2 Last night I did some scrapping at the coffee table in the living room, but I also have to put everything away before going to work the following morning. I just don't trust my 2 labs around my scrapbooks...especially when one of them has destroyed 3-4 phone books - :rotfl: He just loves to shred paper!! ;)

I bought this desk when Hold Everything was going out of business so I paid about $80. They now sell it at www.westelm.com and it's on sale for $149 in black. It's small enough to fit in my bedroom. I also bought the cubes in AC Moore for either 40% off or when they go on sale for $19. I bought them one at a time.

I use a table by Lifetime, I love it. It folds up, so you can put it against a wall or behind something. I don't normally fold it up, but it glides on the floor easy, so I can move it into a corner, over some chests we have on the floor. I pull it out and position it so it's facing the TV before I scrap. I also have an OTT floor light that I bring over, and a chair that's really confortable, and I now have my scrapbook space. I have loads of plastic drawers and such with my supplies, and it's a bit annoying having to bring over what I need to use, but it's much easier than bringing everthing into the kitchen to use the kitchen table. I really wish I had my own scraproom, but since I don't, this works out great.

This is the table I have, from Target's site.. You can google Lifetime tables to find other places that sell it, but I'm 99% sure that I did get it from Target.

I am looking at my disaster on the coffe table as I see this beautiful picture.
I need to log off and organize....

Trust me, when it's in use it looks NOTHING like this. This is the reason for moving it into my room and finding as many ways to hide the clutter as I could.

Getting organized will be my life long goal. :)
I am having a hard time with the scrapping stuff because I don't really have "a system" yet. I am getting there though, hopefully it will move from the rubbermaid box and coffee table to my desk. Don't wait for a picture though;)
Thanks for sharing and inspiring...I did get some desk clutter thrown out after seeing your picture!

Denise:)

Unfortunately I am not very organized. This organized desk took two years to put together. I finally got what people say about having a place for everything. When you pull out the drawers or open a box they are not as neat as they could be but you can put a lid on it :lmao: For example, notice you don't see any ribbon? I can't keep ribbon neat to save my life so I cram it all into the top black and white box. You have to do it little bit by little bit and before you know it everything's got a place.

T-roy - I love your space! Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2 I may just have to check that out on-line - I think you've inspired all of us to get more organized - LOL ;)
