We celebrated DD's 7th birthday in December, here's a run down of the day I planned for her, which might help give you some ideas:
In the morning she went to BBB for a makeover which she absolutely loved and she looked lovely.
We then went to MK for lunch at Crystal Palace, we have been to the CP on each trip and love it but I have to say that we were very disappointed on this trip and sadly our server did absolutely nothing on her birthday visit, didn't wish her happy birthday or anything and when I asked about a cupcake I was given a very rude "we don't have any"
In the afternoon I had arranged a very special surprise through Gifts of a Lifetime for her, I can't put too much detail on here as they request that you don't spoil it for other potential clients but basically they left clues throughout the MK which DD had to follow which eventually led her to her birthday gift from Cinderella (a Pal Mickey and Tinkerbell earrings). Again, DD absolutely loved this and we all had a great time following her clues. She still believes her pressies were from Cinderella

If you would like more details PM me. The cost of this equated to her having a birthday party.
In the evening we went for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. This was a lovely dinner and the characters made a real fuss of the birthday girl, she spent loads of time chatting with Cinderella and Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother. She was also given a birthday tiara, a lovely signed place mat which she got to keep and still uses at home and a cup cake even though we'd ordered a small birthday cake.
She had a really lovely birthday and we all had a really enjoyable day (not even our CP experience could spoil it) so much so that I had to promise our other daughter (14) that we would celebrate her 16th at WDW somehow or other!
