Ideas needed for a Girl Scout lock-in/sleepover!

We are having a lock-in/sleepover on the 23rd for all the troops in
our service unit. So this will include Brownies, Daisies, Juniors,
and Cadettes (ages 5 through teens). The building has some video games, pool table, air
hockey table, etc. I need some ideas for things to do.

I am planning on having a session of making bubble bath and lip
gloss. We will be eating typical sleepover fair......pizza and pop. I need other activity ideas!! Games, etc.?

Also, for the GS leaders, is there a general badge that could be earned (not a try-it)?

DD just went to sleep-over b-day and the girls decorated flip-flops with paint(kind for decorating clothes) Flops were a $1 a pair, maybe you could send a notice out tellling girls to bring in a pair if they want and can decorate them. You could also ask them to think of any idea they might have for a mom's day project, kinda vague I know....how about a kareoke(SP) contest or spur of the moment talent show? Is it in a gymnasium? Is there basketball? Jump rope would wear a few of them out Sorry, maybe others have better ideas! Sounds like fun tho!

I remember doing this at a sleepover, you have all the girls leave except two. They call in one girl at a time, tell her to close her eyes that they are going to do a makeover. They elaborately talk about putting on blush (you brush it on) doing eyeshadow, what colors, putting on mascara, lipstick, etc. Then they give them a mirror -- when they open their eyes they have nothing on. It sounds dumb but I remember laughing so hard because here I thought I was going to be all made up. Then that child helps dupe the next kid, etc.

Also our relay race with vaseline and cotton balls. Each kid gets a dab of vaseline on their nose, they have to race to a basket of cotton balls, stick in their nose, get the balls stuck on and race back to tag the next girl. At the end it is a cute photo op with all the girls standing their with cotton balls stuck on their noses. We call it gooey noses.

How about nail polishing stations, doing each nail in a different color. Making their own little pizzas. Ending up with a movie night.

Have the olders girls teach the younger ones some of those silly habd clapping games. You know "Miss Mary Mack, mack, mack, all dressed in black, black, black.." The little kids want to know them and I'm sure the older kids would love a reason to do them...

A few yrs ago we had a Scout camp out and bought the girls some Silly String. They had a blast with it!!
Of course we were all good little campers and after the Silly String fun we picked it all up.
Two of the girls that are still friends with my DD still bring this activitiy up and how much fun it was. Silly String is at Walmart for about .97 a can.

One of our lock-ins related to women in the workplace. I arranged for a woman firefighter, police officer, architect, doctor, beautician, teacher, dentist, and department store buyer. They gave 20 minute workshops. The firefighter arranged for a firetruck to be there, the police officer fingerprinted all the girls and gave them an ID card, the architect gave a workshop in simple drawing techniques, the doctor let each girl make up a first aid kit, the beautician talked about grooming and gave out samples of shampoo and conditioner, the teacher had a storytelling time, the dentist talked about dental hygene and gave out toothbrushes and toothpaste, and the department store buyer did a class on "dress for success"--how dress well for school on a budget.

The girls were divided into groups and rotated throughout the night. Of course, we also had the pizza, chips, drinks, dessert, time, too. And we allowed some time for just chilling out and talking with friends.

It is probably too late for you to get this all together because it took months of planning--but maybe you could keep it in mind for the next one!

There is a badge for the Juniors- it's called "looking your best" I think, and involves makeovers. we are planning on doing it with our troop for a slumber party soon. Have they earned any of the cooking badges yet? Can't believe GS is winding down for us for the year - I will miss all the girls over the summer!

We just got home yesterday morning from our Daisy Scout lock-in... Here are some of the things we did...
-manicure/pedicures
-shot hoops (bball)
-3 legged sack (pillowcases) races
-egg on spoon races
-made english muffin pizzas
-collage posters by cutting pictures, etc out of old magazines and explaining why they were chosen
-it was a Mother/Daughter thing, so each child introduced mother and explained what made them special
-the older girls took the younger ones in and they made special Mother books... each girl drew a picture with a note to their mother and then they photocopied everyones and stuck them all in a book
-pajama fashion show... each girl acted like they lived somewhere else... DD said "I'm Emily from Cinderella's Castle"
-show and tell
-watched videos at bedtime
-Mother/Daughter photos
-danced to cd's

Part of the time was scheduled and part was not... that way each girl had a chance to do what they wanted... such as run around the gym and dance, or sit and manicure, etc...

The girls can bring their favorite make up, eyeshaddows, glitters and nail polishes can even be shared. Also temp. tattoos, and they can do each others hair (each girl has her own brush)
