I've been reading about tinkerbell visits on other threads and I thought I would like to do this for my kids. I have 3, ages at time of travel are DD2,DD4,&DS7. Wondering if anyone has some ideas - I don't want to spend too much because we're spending probably too much already for the trip.

I am thinking of having a welcome gift from Mickey for each of the kids - autograph book/pen, disposable camera, etc. For those that have done tinkerbell gifts how often does she visit? Every night? That would be a lot of gifts for us - 21 gifts! Do you cut back on souvenirs? Thanks for any ideas

We do Tinkerbell gifts and they are one of the BEST parts of our trips. When we first started going to Disney, Tinkerbelle came every night which was kind of difficult to arrange. The last few trips, Tink now just leaves a gift bag the first day, usually with a ton of trading pins in it with a note and it says to enjoy the gift for your whole trip. Tink has left special Disney candy, a nightgown, light-up toys, glowsticks, make-up (like lip gloss or nail polish), stuffed animals, pins, little backpacks, hand-held fan and other things that I have forgotten. All the gifts are pre-bought and are items found on clearance and are things that I would have needed to buy for the trip any way. HTH :)

Check out your nearest dollar store- here we have the "Dollar Tree" everything is $1- I have found and have a full carry-on full of all Disney items from pencils, notepads, toys, stickers, I even found animal picture puzzles for the day we go to Animal Kingdom....I even found a friends braclet and ring for my DD4 that will be from TinkerBell :goodvibes
I have found several brand new with tags stuffed Disney characters at consignment stores (2- 11 in Tiggers, 1-18 in Donald, 1- 11 in Mickey, a Minnie Mouse hat, a small Simba, a small Copper (from Fox and the Hound), and a Heffalump (Pooh), Tinkerbell Christmas sweatshirt (barely worn)....so, just keeping your eyes open with Disney on your mind and you'll begin to find all sorts out there. Best of Luck!

I gave Dniece 11 Tink gifts on the last trip...it was our first trip to WDW together. I had gathered several things for her and planned to give them a little each night, but decided to just load her up on the first night with a poem I wrote to describe the gifts that was signed by Tink...thank goodness for Walt font. Most of the items I gave her were purchased at the Dollar Tree, Deals, Dollar General, Big Lots or Walmart. Here's what I gave her...
small beanie Mickey and Minnie with magnets in the hands
Tinkerbell washcloth
Tinkerbell light up pen
Tinkerbell notepad
Tinkerbell pencils
Princess with attitude stickers
Tinkerbell coin purse
Glow bracelets
M & M's plain, peanut, white chocolate, mini's (all were Pirates of the Caribbean packages)
a personal fan that looked like a tube of lipstick

She was really surprised when she came back to the room the first night and found all the "booty". We had been upgraded to concierge from a standard room at the YC and she thought it was from them...wanted to stay there all the time. She asked her mom if she'd done it...nope and after she worded her question right, I had to admit that it was me. She gave me the biggest hug. As the ads go...priceless.

Great ideas - I do have a couple of things I've bought for our trip I could use as Tink gifts, i.e. princess barettes. I think my DD4 will be the easiest - she loves anything w/princesses or tinkerbell. DD2 really doesn't have enough hair for barettes :goodvibes and doesn't really know about the characters yet although she loves MM Clubhouse. DS7 loves power rangers/mickey mouse. I need to make a trip to the disney store for ideas plus our local walmart/dollar store. Thanks again.

Your DD4 will FREAK over Tink gifts! My daughter was 4 our first family trip and the Tink gifts were likely her favorite thing. I only have two kids (6 & 4) but it is still a pain to pack all that extra stuff. TOTALLY worth it, though! We treat Tink like the tooth fairy- she comes at night while they're sleeping. Tink also only comes if they behave and are good during the day. If they start getting whiny I can just mention Tink and they shape up.

Tink stuff I've gotten for our 2 trips- Princess and Nemo bandaids, Disney character crayons and markers, Disney temporary tattoos, coloring books, stickers, cars and airplanes for DS, all kinds of trinkets I got for a buck or two on clearance at the Disney Store. I also bought those nametags engraved with their names and some other small gifts at the parks. Our kids have been 2 & 4 and 3 & 5 on our trips and I thought we saved a ton on souvies by doing Tink gifts. However, DD6 is MUCH more aware of money and buying things now so I imagine our next trip it won't be so easy to skip over all the souvie stands.

I was wondering where do you get the trading pins?? I mean if you are buying a bunch for then to trade with... are you getting at eBay?? I think I may try this with my friends girls when we go in December. I have to start planning!

thanks!

You can get them at eBay or I get grab bags at www.mousepinsonline.com The pins at mousepins are cheaper pins and some debate here if it "right" to trade 'cheapie' pins, but they are trademarked by Disney and we have never had one single problem trading them.
