Hi everybody!!

Everyone knows what a challenging growing year it was- I'm trying to plan for the spring. I got a nice g.c. for my birthday to Lowe's and would like some input on what I can plant now so I'm not frantic in the spring.

I live in MA, so the weather can change anytime you look out the window. I have plenty of daffodils, tulips and jonquils around the garden beds.

So who wants to help me spend my g.c. wisely??

Thanks!!!:D

Hi Jjacqjob! :)

Lucky you, a gift certificate burning a hole in your wallet! :)

What did you have in mind Jjacqjob, perennials, shrubs, maybe a tree or two?

It's not too late for shrubs and trees, and perennials could be planted too, although it is getting late, at least for where I live. :)

Here's a link to some fall planting info that you might find interesting. Fall Planting

Any ideas for Jjacqjob?

:)

Thanks Snowark.

Preferably, perennials. I have things blooming from about mid March to end of October. Looking to liven up the early spring, late fall- winter blooming season. I've read about some avid gardners on this web site and seeking other's knowledge is always a good place to start.

I probably have another two weeks to plant. Then I have to mulch, mulch, mulch.....

What about creeping phlox? :) I love the soft colors it has in the spring!

Have fun with the GC! Nothing like some "free money" to blow on the things you love!

Good morning Jjacqjob! :)

I have some Moss Phlox "Emerald Cushion Blue", and it's very pretty.

How about some Geum? Mine are one of the very first plants to bloom in the spring. I 've been very happy with them. They come in others colours besides orange.

Cranesbill Geranium is another nice early spring plant.

How about some Bleeding Heart, Lily of the Valley, or Alyssum?

There are so many spring perennials to choose from.

Any other ideas Buds?

For fall blooming, nothing beats Autumn Joy Sedum! My Azure Monkshood is still blooming!

:)

Thanks for all the suggestions!!:D

This weekend, its hiho, hiho off to Lowe'sI go....

I'll update when I'm back from shopping- assuming there's anything left??
