My daughter will turn 16 a few weeks before our trip next year. I want to do something special for her ''sweet 16'' :) We have celebrated bdays there over the years and had them bring out the cupcakes and sing but I want a special experience for the big 16! Any ideas? Thanks!!

While we do custom cakes for just about anything, I had a friend bring her daughter to WDW for her Sweet 16...they had dinner at 'Ohana, had a custom cake from the GF bakery delivered to the meal and then went out to the Poly beach to catch Wishes. Pooh is her fave, so they started out the day with breakfast at Crystal Palace.

Maybe some kind of spa treatment/makeover type thing?

If you eat at the castle maybe do the glass slipper package thing.

There's in room celebrations you can purchase.

* Custom cake
* call the celebration line and see what they might be able to plan -- maybe the cake and fun stuff like Basin things, shirt, makeup, etc. (This TR has an indication of what they can do for you. http://www.disboards.com/threads/9-...ght-surprise-party-updated-2-2.3445727/page-3)
* special experience: spa treatments, dessert party, Club Villain (if they still have that), Wild Africa Trek, Keys to the Kingdom or other tour, parasailing, diving at The Seas, etc.
* favorite dining or some fancier dining

My DD and I went for her Sweet 16 a few years ago! Heading back next month for her high school graduation celebration! We did Pick a Pearl in EPCOT. She loved it. We got matching necklaces!

This may not be the type of "special" you're looking for, but I would highly recommend a mother/daughter or father/daughter evening out. I see you have five children, so getting to spend some time alone with one parent doing whatever she wants might be a huge treat.

I started this tradition with my oldest during our first trip. She was 9 and the younger two were preschool aged. We picked one evening that was EMH at MK where just she and I went out together until 1am. We didn't do anything extravagant, but we both still have wonderful memories of eating ice cream while people watching and riding BTMRR during the fireworks. It's just nice to be able to relax and focus on one kid rather than consider and compromise for the whole group.

This was such a special tradition for DD that during our last trip (she's heading to college this year) she took each of her siblings out one night to have some individual bonding time, go to whatever park they wanted, and eat whatever snacks they were in the mood for.

We celebrated both my daughters' sweet 16's at Disneyland and did the Fantasmic reserved seating with dessert package both times. It was very memorable. Do they have anything like that at Walt Disney World?

What about the high tea at the Grand Floridian?

If you are staying at AKL, the Waynama Safari is really neat.

For my DD's Sweet 16, we flew to San Diego, went fishing, snorkeling, and Disney Land - stuff she wanted to do. Maybe ask her if there is something she would really like to do? Maybe have DD12 watch the others for an evening and two of you just something with her?
