Hello everyone, my son decided that for his 16th B-day he wants to go to WDW (again) instead of money for a car. We are allowing him to bring a friend:scared1:(this might get interesting) we are staying at the BLT (2 bdrm) 5 days
I was thinking of using "Gifts of a Lifetime"? any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

How about the Keys to the Kingdom tour. He may really enjoy it if he loves MK. AND you must be 16 to take the tour, so it's probably something he hasn't done yet.....

The snorkel tour of the Living Seas is very cool. If he is a certified diver, the scuba in the tank is fantastic too. You don't say when you are going, but if it's in the next couple of weeks, spring training games are a lot of fun. If he likes the water parks, give him and his friend a parent-free day there...to take in the scenery.:rolleyes1 And then of course there's the embarrass the heck out of him route and have him wear <the button> all day.

Hope you guys have a great time.

We did the Segway tour for our daughter's 16th birthday since you had to be 16 to participate. She loved it!

My Husband I did the Epcot Seway tour in November and LOVED it!!! They give you a lesson and then take you on a tour of the World Showcase. It was such an amazing experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat! You have to be 16 to do it, so it would be perfect! Highly reccommend it!!

I thank you all for the suggestions, the segway tours sound really fun but my problem is his friend is only 15 :confused3I'm afraid there is no way he'll pass for 16, on the other hand my son is 6' 3" and 283 lb's and the segway weight limit is 250 lb's. You would think that after all these trips this would be easy:confused3 I really want to find something special to do for him, he is a really good son.

The water park idea might work, but I would have to go, a father should be with his son on his b-day:rolleyes1:rotfl:

keep the ideas coming

I'm also in the same dilemma as my son will be celebrating his 15th birthday on our next Disney vacation in December. We will be on our Disney cruise for his birthday but plan to use Gifts of a Lifetime during our visit to WDW after the cruise.

I used Gifts of a Lifetime for his 8th birthday at Magic Kingdom and he really enjoyed it. It was something that involved all the family. He's now 14 and he still talks about the scavenger hunt he had at WDW...so I know it is something he will enjoy doing again...

Good Luck...I'm pretty sure your son will appreciate whatever you choose..:goodvibes

I was thinking about doing the scavenger hunt also, and if you don't mind, was there a gift at the end? did you pick it or did Gifts of a lifetime?

I purchased the gifts and mailed them directly to Gifts of a Lifetime...they wrapped them up and mysteriously appeared at the end of the scavenger hunt. I'm thinking about getting my son a gift card....it was much easier to shop for him when he was younger...

Let me know if you have any more questions :)

Let your son and his friend have an afternoon at DisneyQuest, then have dinner and see Cirque du Soleil's LaNouba that evening. That could be a fun birthday!

Let the boys each rent a Sea (Mouse) racer and let them race around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.

I didn't know that Gifts of Lifetime existed. Why not check to see what the would offer for a 16 year old boy's birthday celebration?

What about parasailing at The Contemporary. We did this for my son on his 21st while he was on the College Program down there. We also did Lunch with an Imagineer, but I am not sure that is still offered.

Your son will love having a friend with him. We have done this several times for my son (who is now 17).

Surf lessons at Typhoon Lagoon?

Movies and dinner at DTD?

How about the new African Trek tour at AK (kind-off pricey)?

Parasailing? (looks like a blast)

Fishing on BLT?

When we stayed at BLT we had a great time pool hopping to the POLY and GF

Have you considered going off site to Kennedy Space Center?

And make sure to give your son some private time just touring and hanging out with his friend. We left my son on his own schedule several times. They enjoyed playing basketball, working out, and hanging by the pool late at night. They really loved this when we stayed at SSR where they visited the pool for the allegedly "hot" girls.

I also have no idea what Gifts of a Lifetime is!

I am not sure if I am allowed to post the link for GOAL---It's a company that is not associated with WDW but decorates rooms and plans special events for your visit....You Can just google it.

How about an illuminations or wishes cruise. They are about the same amount of money as the other place you mentioned. You can get a birthday cake, food drinks, etc delivered to the boat...
