I'm heading to WDW over spring break with a small group of friends, all mid 20s. We're doing a split stay at AKL and BR, doing all 4 parks, and have ADRs at some of my favorite spots. I've been going to disney since i was a kid, and most of my friends have been at least once, but it's my girlfriend's first trip and I want to make it extra special for her.

Usually when I've been with people on their first trips there were kids involved, so adding some extra magic was super easy- countdowns to our trip, mickey wake up calls, character dining, princess and prince/pirate dress up, bringing some silly gifts to surprise them with each morning, you get the gist. But I've never been on, let alone planned, an adults only trip before. Any ideas to add some extra excitement and pixie dust, either leading up to or on the trip?

Tough question but I'm going to be a Mom here. You are planning on staying at two great resorts, that in and of itself is pixie dust. I've found when we have taken adults for their first trip it can be pretty overwhelming so trying to do too much is less than magic. Maybe leading up to the trip show her a few Vlogs so she can get the idea and buy some of ILL's for those "must have" rides. Don't show her too much before the trip, let the magic happen.

She definitely needs a first visitor button. 😁

I know people who have done some “Disney survival kits”… a little moleskin, advil, a couple pins for trading, a Disney mask, some cute simple ears (even for the guys!), mini hand sanitizer, reusable straws, etc.

I feel like Trader Sams is a must do for adult trips personally lol. Also don’t underestimate a good character breakfast even for grown ups. I suggest Garden Grill followed by whatever Epcot festival is poppin.

Haha you do sound like my mom! You're definitely right though, I'm trying to remind myself that for a newbie even what I consider a pretty routine trip is a lot to experience in and of itself. But still, it's sort of a tradition in my family to go all out, so that side of me is dying for some extra little sprinkles of disney :earboy2:

That's kind of what I was thinking! Thanks for lots of ideas of what to add :). I haven't been back since I turned 21, thanks covid, and I've never been to Trader Sam's, but I've heard so many great things that it's definitely on our list! As is drinking around the world at EPCOT 🥂

Another option, if you're into this sort of thing ... is a Monorail Crawl. It usually involves hoping on the monorail for a fun ride, but stopping off at each of the big resorts along the way and enjoying refreshments and/or snacks or ordures of your choice. Such as at the Steak House 71 lounge at the Contemporary, Tambu Lounge (or Trader Sams as previously mentioned) at the Poly, and lastly the Enchanted Rose at the Grand Floridian. All are walk-in with no reservation required, seating permitting. Its a great way to see and experience the sights in a relaxing, non-park sort of way.

I would say if you are drinkers get "drinking around the world" shirts for EPCOT with boxes you can check off. Easy to find on google search or etsy. Makes EPCOT twice as fun IMO.

Definately see if you can get a character call to the room while you are there. That's cool and fun!
You are staying at AKL so be sure to do the night vision. Yes, they have brought it back.

If you are on Facebook, there is a group called Ear for Each Other, which is furloughed cast members promoting their side hustles. There's a lot of cool things that they can deliver to your resort - charcuterie boards, pastries, all sorts of fun things. Planning for something like that would be fun and special for you all, AND helping out someone who needs it at the same time.

How cool! Now I have to check this out. Thanks for posting! :)
