I'm trying to figure out what we're going to do our first day at Disney. We'll have most of the day free but we don't plan on going to the parks until our second day. The only for sure thing is that we have PS for Boma's for dinner. I know there are so many options outside the parks.

We've talked about DD, the boardwalk, checking out some of the other resorts. What are your favorite things to do outside the parks?

Thanks!

1st of all, Welcome to the DIS!:wave2:

What resort are you staying at? They all have soooo much to do, you could probably swim & tour the grounds & activities & occupy a good part of the day that way...

I also like to check out the other resorts. You could take a ride on the monorail and get excited as you drive by MK and Epcot! Downtown Disney is fun for a little shopping. Also, Fantasia Mini Golf over by the Boardwalk looks like a lot of fun. I haven't done it yet, but it's on my to-do list!

Tiggerwannabe-we're staying at CBR

and AladinsPrincess-I forgot about the monorail! Well, I didn't actually *forget* about the monorail...I just didn't think of doing that the first day. That's a great idea!

Thanks!

If you are at AKL, you could always catch the storytelling around the fire pit (ask at the desk what time it will be held).

Do you have young kids with you? If so, they might like the campfire at Fort Wilderness and an appearance from Chip and Dale.

The Boardwalk is fun, especially at Christmas time. At night they have various entertainment there.

DTD is good for shopping and if anyone enjoys games, Disney Quest is very popular (my 11 year olds LOVE that place--so does their Dad, I am fine with it but wouldn't go if it weren't for my kids).

Just stop a while to take everything in and enjoy it! Take a walk around the hotel, ride the monorail, take a little shopping excursion to DTD, try a game of minature golf, get a good night's sleep ....anything that is relaxing and puts you in that oh-so wonderful Disney mood ::MickeyMo

what time are you arriving?
We landed in Orlando about noon 10/2
By the time we food shopped, checked in, unpacked, etc it was almost time to leave for our 6pm PS at Chef Mickey's
