"Mickey" always sneaks into our room at the resorts and leaves gift bags for the kids on each of our Disney trips. They contain stuff that usually will be used during the trips. Like, when we were going to Blizzard Beach, they got new bathing suits and matching beach towels. Or hats for in the parks. Or light-up toys for Fantasmic. Candy, small stuffed animals, etc. Last year, they got new lanyards filled with pins. When we had our Disney Store here, it was a piece of cake finding small articles to fill up the bags, but now that the store is gone, it's getting more difficult each time.

We're going on a Disney cruise in October, but are spending a couple of days in the parks before the trip. Any ideas for what I can get for their gift bags that they can use on the cruise? I'm going to use buckets on this trip, so they can already have their beach toys for Castaway Cay, but can you think of anything else to put in there that I might have missed. Neither one needs a new bathing suit - they've each got several, and we definitely don't need anymore beach towels. So far, all I can think of is the sand toys, a float, and candy. Their ages are 7 and 4.

They'll be getting them at the resort, not on the ship. We've got it down to a science, Mommy goes and "finds" the room while Daddy and the kids start unloading the van. Being our first cruise, not sure if I can so easily pull that off on the boat. So, they could get some items that could be used in the parks too, I suppose.

Don't need autograph books or pens. I just can't think of anything else.

kbkids....which itinerery are you doing?? eastern or western??

Let me know, as I've been on both. I'll put my thinking cap on while I wait to hear back from ya :goodvibes

Actually, we're just doing a 3-night. First cruise, baby steps . . . :)

We're driving down on Monday afternoon, spending Tuesday and Wednesday at the parks, cruise from Thursday to Sunday, then a few hours at Epcot on Sunday before heading back home.

 OK...

so only Castaway Cay then.

You could make your own Mickey iron tranfers for an orange (halloween color) t-shirt and take a sharpie for Mickey or the captain to sign. Arcade cards for on-board, but then you can't get them until you are on-board so don't know if that helps. Which parks are you doing besides Epcot? You could always on an on-board scavenger hunt instead on goodie bags. I'll keep thinkin' :cool1:

We're spending Tuesday morning at the pool at the resort, then the afternoon and evening at MGM. Wednesday, we'll be spending most of the day at MK. We've been to the parks so much, 6 times last year  , that we're really only hitting the highlights at the parks and saving our energy for the cruise. Basically, we're just doing the parks to see the new rides and attractions and the castle all decorated.

Maybe, underwater cameras - the disposable kind.

Oh - DD is 7 (almost 8), and DS is 4.

OK...

DD gift bag could consist of "girlie" stuff (if she's that kind of little girl)
maybe something like: the glitter sunscreen. flavored chapsticks, oh! at my local Kmart, I found the cutest bubbles...they look like a ice cream bar and are scented either strawberry, chocolate or vanilla (could be for both) they were in the patio section. Nail polish that changes color in the sun, new flip-flops...love the idea of their own disposable cameras!

DS gift bag: crayola markers (the ones that only activate with the special paper...they won't color anything they are not supposed to) disposable camera, ice cream bubbles, ring pops, if you have a dollar store anywhere nearby, they usually have some cool stuff. Target may also have some "little" item to fill up the buckets.

It's been awhile since my kids were that little :rotfl2:

Our little one liked having her own underwater camera for Castaway Cay. Some of the pictures were actually usable. We also gave her a disposable camera for her last night in the kids club to take pictures of whatever she wanted. She really enjoyed it.

Maybe a sand toy or two. I know those are harder to pack.

I forgot. On our last cruise DD was 7 getting ready to turn 8. She really wanted a shimmering lipgloss. She also liked the idea of having special nail stickers for the cruise and a dangly anklet to wear with the sandles (I think I got it at walmart for $1).

Since all cruises now have Pirate's Night, why not make them Pirate baskets..

They could include pirate tattoes, eye patches, plastic swords, dress up costume, etc..

Just an idea..

My 6 going on 7 yr old really likes getting dressed up. He can't wait to get his"fancy clothes" on. I am going to get him a new tie and some gel for his hair and maybe a tie tack

How about kid size sunglasses to protect their eyes.

If you check out orientaltrading.com you will find lots of great ideas..things to surprise them with. It is a great company, been using it for years.

I love this idea and wish I had thought of it when my neice and nephew were this young and we took the train to Disneyland. I had a small wrapped surprise for each day. Before they were given the surprise, after dinner, I pointed out any good behaviors they exhibited that day. Such as trying new food at dinner, being quiet during shows or accepting, without whining, that they could not buy everything they saw.

For gifts, I would suggest surf mocs, inexpensive binoculars, kid books on sea life or ships, any Disney books (great bedtime stories) or any sort of pirate gear. Swim goggles are great for seeing fish for those too young to seal a snorkel mask. Just remember nose plugs if they want to try to use a snorkel.

If you keep your eyes open you can find some of the stuff already mentioned with a Disney theme. You can find Disney sunglasses at Walmart and I know Target has disposable cameras with princesses on it. Also our "Claire's" in the mall has a princess photo kit. It has a princess camera, photo album and I think stickers. They also have other little Disney princess trinkets. I know it's hard to find stuff with no Disney store, but just keep your eyes open. Our Dollar Tree always has stuff, mickey suckers, Disney stickers, pencils, notepads, post-its and character figures, etc.
My favorite thing I found for our trip was at Walmart. They had notepads with hangman, the "dot game" and tic tac toe on them. They were in packs of three and were like three bucks I think. I bought one of each for the plane ride. They are so cool!

We did goodie bags for our girls for our cruise...and had things like the sunglasses, underwater cameras, chap stick (with SPF...don't want to burn those little lips with the sea sun and reflection off the water) we also had things like sunscrean (with glitter/sparkles). We also did things like get them special pj's with disney characters (princesses of course)....Just about everything had a disney theme....if you look you'll see things everywhere...from the sunglasses to crayons.

We found it VERY easy to sneak in onto the ship and set things out every day. Since your on the ship and can't go far one of you (DH or yourself) will be close enough to run back to the stateroom and get the goodies out.

Some other things we did were....someone made the girls special cruise pillowcases that we truned into Guest Services on the ship...and all the character signed...then on the last night we had them set out on thier bed. Once on the ship we also got each of them a special Captian Mickey from the ship store...

And once your onboard you could also get the acarde cards.

The float and sand toys are a good one...so are the pirate items.

Oh...something else we got them was a lanyard to keep their KTTW card with them at all times.

what section did you find these in? I am on my way to wal-mart today :teeth:

They were in toys on the game row hanging on those pole things. Do you know what I'm talking about? They hang small cheap things from a pole-okay, so I'm not clear, but that's where they were!
