Ideas for Epcot lunch please...

We originally had an ADR for GG for lunch. Now that the characters are gone I've cancelled because the reviews don't seem too great.

I've booked Teppan Edo for lunch but am thinking this may take up too much time. First of all, it seems rather far away from any of the main attractions/rides, so we'd use up time walking there and back. Also, I've heard that it can take a while to complete the meal.

We will be going with our DS6 and DS7 and I'm really re-thinking this choice. As we are on the Dlx DP it's not a problem booking aTS for lunch as well as dinner (we have dinner ressies for CR that night).

In Epcot I like Sunshine Plaza -- we pick up FPs for Soarin', go to Turtle Talk with Crush, have lunch and then (usually) it is time to get in line for Soarin'!

If you want TS, Rose & Crown is great! What about San Angel? I've never eaten there but I've heard good things. For me, I like going to Yakitori House. If the little ones aren't that adventurous (it's not really too exotic though) there is always the Liberty Inn or Electric Umbrella.

Thanks everyone for your input! Do you agree with me that Teppan Edo will take too long? Or can it be done without taking a huge chunk out of the day? I do think my kids would enjoy the "show" aspect of it. They've never been to this type of restaurant, although we could do that at home, not necessarily have to go to WDW to do that.

It might be difficult to get the ressie but you could try lunch at Le Cellier.

We have also made the semi-short walk (or boat ride) over to the Beach Club for lunch at Beaches and Cream.

Coral Reef is a cool looking Resturant and good food.

We like Tutto Italia, Nine Dragons (if it's open when you go), Marrakesh, and Chefs de France. We love walking through the world showcase and watching the different countries little shows and going through the shops.

I would pick San Angel (TS) for a few reasons:

1) The boat ride in the pavilion is fun for the kids. You can get seated and order your food and then take the kids on the boat ride, or just watch the people float by and promise a ride to the kids after your meal.

2) San Angel (Mexico Pavilion) is one of the first countries as you enter World Showcase, so if you want to stay closer to Future World, this will work nicely for you.

3) We loved the food here! I know it gets mixed reviews, but we loved the gorgeous surroundings and the food was tasty. The kids would like the Churros, too (kinda like fried dough, but lighter and not as greasy).

Hmmm...if you still want Japanese, switch from Teppan Edo to Tokyo dining. It is sushi though: are your kids sushi kids? Tokyo dining is a fav of ours for lunch. We also have San Angel reservations for our upcoming trip at lunch.

How about the Biergarten or tutto italia? Le Cellier would be great if you can get a table.

Marrakesh is tasty: also they have belly dancers who get the kids up from the tables and dance with them. This was a big hit with the girls at the table next to us.

Also, as someone else said, Sunshine Seasons is always good (we sometimes have breakfast or snacks there).

We've eaten lunch at Chefs de France twice. I love the lobster bisque. And for our next trip we have lunch reservations at Le Cellier.

We always have lunch at Tangeriene Cafe! It is the best CS in WDW!

DW and I like to grab a little something from several CS options as we make are way around the park. It usually starts out at Yakitori House for some Teriyaki Chicken, then onto Yorkshire County Fish Shop for fish and chips, and finally over to the Funnel Cake Kiosk for dessert.

My favorite is Japan for CS, but I agree with Coral Reef if you are looking for at TS.

Wow, thanks to everyone for such great advice! I will be looking into these options!

I already have ADRs for Le Cellier (on another night) and Coral Reef, so am looking for something else. Sounds like there are some really nice CS options too. I was worried it would be standard nuggets/burgers so I didn't want to do that, but now I'll see what the offerings are.

What a great idea to do a walkabout and get different foods at different stops! Yum! Hmmm maybe going all the way to World Showcase will be a good idea anyway!

Just to add more information to make your decision harder, you could exit Epcot and walk or take a boat over to The Beach Club resort and have a meal at Beaches & Cream. It's a TS place, but they don't take ADR's. It's burgers and fries and looks like an old fashioned soda shoppe. The best part is, after your meal, you can enjoy one of these:
