I'm looking for some ideas for my daughter's 10th birthday party. She wants to do a "spa". She wants to do nails and have cucumbers on their eyes. My MIL is a yoga instructor, so she can do yoga with the girls for relaxation.

I'm looking for inexpensive ideas. Anyone have a thought? thanks!

You can google these recipes, but we have done things like face scrubs that use oatmeal, cocoa powder, and honey mixed together. Hand scrubs with strawberries, olive oil and sea salt. And maybe buy or rent one of those chocolate fountains that you can dip fruit in? Fun!

Have a great party.

Well I would watch for good coupons for Bath & bodyworks. You could get some of the little tiny body splashes & shower gels for goody bags or prizes if you do decide to play any games.
Also check CVS sales and clip coupons for makeup. Pretty much all of the makeup companies make nail polish. You should be able to get some pretty cheap there. And watch for the pedi toe separaters. I know cvs had some of them for like .25 a pkg. be sure to get some nail polish remover and cotton balls/squares. If other moms are okay w/ it, I would do makeovers on them and do some glam shots. I know there only going to be 10, but just make sure they know that it's just for fun. Her party will be remembered by her and all of her friends. Don't have one, but get a receipe for a homemade facial cream. There's one that uses plain yogurt as the base w/ a few other food products. You could even let them make the face cream. :confused3
will keep thinking for more ideas. There's tons of potential in that type of theme. :goodvibes

ALso, if your MIL is going to be doing yoga with the girls, you can get yoga mats for everyone at 5 below for $5. this would make great 'goody' bag items.

facials.

My DD loves them.

lotion

relaxing music
tea

what about setting up a kiddie pool for soaking their feet?
You could fill it with hot water and salts.

I did this with my daughter one year. We did facials, hand soaks, nails and hair. All on the cheap and loads of fun for the girls. Add in a batch of smoothies and a fun movie and you have a great day.

I got a bunch of cheap flowers from the grocery florist and every girl got a flower in their hair. I took pics of them all and emailed them to their moms later.

Don't forget the nail sticker thingys 10 yr old would LOVE those you get enough for several gils on a couple of cards in a pack.

Everything a Dollar store often has eye shadow lip sticks an nail polish most of it is name brand too. Love the Azia eye shadows. you might check there see if there anything you can use for the party.

Everything a Dollar also some times has the hand salts an body salts stuff for a dollar too.

Big Lots is another cheap place to shop for the stuff.

1 of the best items I've found the last couple of years was a shower organizer with pockets that hangs on the inside of shower from the shower curtain hooks. Maybe send each one of the girls home with one of those with a scrubby a little bottle of smelly body wash and a nail brush for party favors. Their moms prolly thank you later for giving them something to keep their shower stuff in if they actually use them lol DD actually uses hers an it has made my shower look better not having all her stuff an my stuff all over shower.

This sounds like fun!

When I was at Target yesterday, I noticed that they had kid spa stuff in the "One Spot" section. It was fruit scented stuff - strawberries and cream, oranges and cream, peach. They had creams, bath salts, nail polishes (ones that change color in the sun), manicure/pedicure tool kits, scrubby gloves, lipgloss. There was a bunch of stuff that was really cute.

Maybe you could put together a little bucket of items for them to use and then take home with them. Could get little plastic bowl to put it all in with their name written on the bowl. The bowl could double as a "finger soak" bowl for a manicure.

Thanks for all of the wonderful ideas! I had some ideas, but these really help me expand! I'm definitely going to use some of the ideas and am really excited for this party!!:thumbsup2

Don't forget the Nail Pens! They are like little sharpies for your nails. Opi makes them as does Sally hansen.
My dd loves them. She paints her nails then decorates with the pens. usually something like a flower- or a star- or a mickey. whatever she's in the mood for.

Just be careful with the facials- my dd is very allergic to all that stuff. She would be breaking out in hives if she did facials. Maybe keep it simple.

Buy those thick stretchy headbands- to hold back their hair. Another goodie to take home. They sell them in packs of 5 all over the place.

OH!!! You can make fluffy flip flops! My dd did this at her party when she was 9. The girls loved them - you can find flip flops for $1 Then I bought a bunch of fleece and cut it into strips

Here are the "official instructions"

I had a spa night a couple of years ago. Sister inlaw did Mary Kay and did mini spa treatments. I did- if you have a deck take cheap white shears and hang them, lots of huge pillows, towels, dollar store wash basins per child with warm bubbly water.Let them bring thier own robes and buy them flip flops and nail polish in thier goody bags.

GREAT idea, the girls will LOVE it :thumbsup2! My DD did this for her daughter's 9th BD and it was a huge hit!! She is a pt MK rep so supplies were no problem, and the girls had a blast having mini facials, pedicures and their personalized basket of goodies. :lovestruc

I also did this 2 weeks ago for my DGD and daycare girls! They each bought robes, we did facials, even cut cucumbers, nails/stickers, listen to soft music, we baked cookies previously to have w/tea :). I furnished hair acessories and did their doos. It was almost a cool as BBB ;)!! Body & Bath always has good deals and as mentioned Dollar store has lots of reasonable supplies. :goodvibes

Good luck, Happy Birthday to your DD, it's going to be such fun! :flower3:

Hi :) Really late on this thread but I remembered this topic from a few months ago and wanted to let whoever was interested in a spa party to check out B&N "Spa Princess Cookbook". I saw it at the store the other day (which reminded me) and there are so many cute dessert/drink/favor ideas in there! Just wanted to pass it on :goodvibes

keeping an eye out for ideas my DDs 12th coming in a few months.....
