I was thinking today I might have my DS make all his teachers a gift. Ithought some kind of bird feeder would be cute. Does anyone have any 'recipes' besides the pinecone, peanut butter, bird seed? (although if it comes dowm to it... that's what it will be!)
He has a lot of special area techers (2nd grade) and always wants to give to the nurse, maintenance guys, librarian... You get the point.
:sad2: :sad2:

I am replying to your post in a negative manner, but not just to be negative so I hope you understand.

I have several family members who are all teachers. During a recent discussion they brought up "homemade" gifts from students. While they all will gush to the child and make them feel great about the gift. Every single one of them (my side of the family, husbands and god daughter) all say they go right in the trash when they get home. A handmade gift from your child to you is very special, not so much to the teacher.

I understan where you are coming from. I also have quite a few friends and family member that are teachers. (I also work for a school district, not my sons) I know they don't really enjoy homemade edible gifts. I really think they throw out almost everything (mugs, candy etc.) I normally buy gift cards but I can't afford them with all of the teachers and staff he wants to give to.
At least they can hang it on a tree BEFORE they throw it out...

Thanks for the input anyway!!! :)

Check out the Mrs Prindables apples on QVC. They are individually wrapped - you can get quite a few for under $30. If you give each Teacher one of the dipped apples and maybe a packet of mulling cider in a small gift bag that would be a failry inexpensive gift :)

ETA: - One year I did homemade "simmer" bags. Get some cheesecloth - fill with whole cloves, whole pieces of cinnamon and anything else "whole" that is scented (I made my own dried orange peel with my dehydrator)- tie with twine and put a note on it explaining that it's a potpourri bag - put the bag in a small pot of water and simmer for the scent etc.
