Hi.

I will be traveling to DW with my husband, DS-9, DD-7, and DD-9months in April. I know the baby will not remember the trip, but wanted to get her some "gear" to wear. I know the pictures will be priceless, so I want to be prepared. Any must do's with a baby that would make a great picture opportunity?

I looked on Ebay for some personalized outfits, but it seems like they start at toddler sizes. Any ideas? I wanted to find something ahead of time that said "My 1st disney trip". Do you know if Disney merchandising has anything that I could order? Any homemade ideas? I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks so much!

You are going to have so much fun! We took my DS when he was 16 months. I got him a shirt in DTD at the WoD store that has all the characters on it and says First Timer. Its really cute. We also got him some personalized mouse ears in Magic Kingdom.

You can get her first haircut at the Harmony barbershop in MK if she is due for one. She'll get a free pair of pink ears that say "first haircut" and a certificate. They will also save her hair in tissue paper. It is such a great experience for all of the kids...they will give the kids some colorful gel and a mickey head, along with some pixie dust confetti to top it off. The hours are 9-5 daily and they fill up quickly, so get there early. The cuts are only $14.00 per person. We do this every trip!

On my DS's first trip, he was 11 mos. I definitely recommend taking the baby to see some characters. Depending on who you get and the baby's cooperation, you can get a very sweet pic. One Pooh Bear knealt down and held him, so it was actually a pic w/o me in it. It was very cute. We also have some wonderful pics of him staring into the faces of different characters.
On DD#3's first trip, she was 12 mos. Donald Duck tried to hold, but she wasn't having it, and it seemed to really worry the CM. I wasn't too worried, I was right there and her feet were on the ground. Donald Duck was holding her under her armpits. We did get some wonderful pics of Mickey Mouse kissing her. DD#1, however, thinks it looks likes he's trying to eat her. She thinks its hilarious.
Have a Wonderful trip

HI -

The first haircut thing is adorable! We have watched it, and its sooo cute - they re so good with the baby!!!!

Have you looked on the disbotique boards? Many people sew for their tiny ones over there - and some even have their ebay or etsy names in their signature!

I would guess that you could call disney merchandise and get a my first - tshirt - orrrrr, you could make really cute family tshirts with the baby's saying my first visit (check the Creative Disigns thread)....so fun!!!!

Make sure you stop at guest services when you first get into the park and get a 1st visit pin...FREE! Makes a great keepsake.

We took our dd for her first trip at 9 months also! We bought her the Minnie Mouse Dress and classic embroidered ears for her to wear in the magic kingdom. It was so adorable when she met Mickey and Minnie. She kept hugging Minnie's leg and soon her and Minnie were crawling on the floor together.
The Minnie dress was the only themed outfit we took. Other then that, we packed adorable outfits from Janie and Jack and Gymboree.
My only advice is to take lots of pictures and get a photopass so you can have family pictures taken.

We are taking DD next May, she will be 7 months and I'm loving these ideas.Thank you OP for starting this thread! :)

I got some Mickey shirts at the Disney Store for pretty cheap (2.99 I think). They're big on my guy (who is also 9 mos) - I think the smallest tshirt size is 2-3 but you could get them for all your kiddos to match.

There were also some cute little dresses for babies (unfortunately I have a boy so no dresses for me).

You can have someone on the crafts board design her a stick figure image that says "xxxxx first trip to WDW", etc. Then use a t-shirt transfer and put it on a nice onesie. I did a shirt for DD (19 mos) and also did the back of her hooded sweatshirt. It turned out super cute and I got so many compliments. I also bought really cute sequin hair clippies off ebay. I would post the link but I'm not sure that's allowed.

There is a store on ebay called Sibling T's who makes personalized Disney vacation onesies, t-shirts and sweatshirts. We're getting some for our October 2009 trip

At Downtown Disney in World Of Disney, they have My First Trip tee's in tiny sizes (maybe even onesies - I don't remember). They also have My First Disney Bear or something like that....

Near the art store at Downtown Disney, there is a place to create your own t-shirt or onesie - you design it - the characters picture and the wording - they screenprint it. Also you can have ears monogrammed with "so and so's first Disney trip" or something on them.

Aww reading this made me so excited!! My 15 month old will be getting his haircut on his first trip (My 6 week old probably wont have enough hair...lol). You can go to disney shopping.com and order onesies that are personalized. I did that with my son.... his name with Squirt from finding nemo that said "Sage, my little turtle".... cuz that's what I call him :)

Find a spot in the park that is special to you and take your little ones picture there... then EVERY time you go back...always take a picture at that spot.

And, get the ears engraved!!!

We took my DS in December and he was 13 months. I got the First Trip tee at MK and we also had his first haircut on Main Street! That was the one thing I was looking forward to and they did a fantastic job! We missed out on the pin, but I think that would be nice as well. We also got Mickey Ears with his name and one set with first haircut embroidered on the back that came with his haircut. Have fun...the first trip is the best! Take lots of pics and take advantage of the Photopass photographers so you ALL get in the pics!

Great ideas coming here. Thanks for sharing it here. I'll better do some of it.

Have a nice day everyone. :)
