We were originally planning to purchase 3 day tickets for MK, AK and HS but were able to purchase a special offer that gave us 4 days for less than the cost of 3 day. I am not sure what to do with our last day, which will be a Saturday (mid-may). Options we have thought of are:
1. Epcot- is our least favorite park but we may still go.
2. Repeat MK or AK (which we would be going to on DAY 1 and 2) if we feel that there is still more that we want to see/do.
3. Just not use 4th day ticket and hang out at our resort (offsite).

It will be our last day and we have to be up in the middle of the night for airport so want it to be a easy/short day. We are planning Disney Springs for our arrival day. Just thought I'd post to see if anyone has any suggestions for an easy last Disney day (children are 5 & 8). Thanks!

Well, that's entirely up to you and what your interests are. If Epcot has things your kids would like, then that's where I'd go since you're doing the other 3 parks. If it doesn't, I'd do repeat whatever park you like best. I definitely wouldn't skip it and just hang out at the resort.

I would just do a shorter day in which ever park you'd like. I wouldn't want to end my trip with a resort day, but that's just me.

I would do a half day in either epcot or any of the other 3 parks that you may feel you didn't get to spend enough time in. Then I would spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel pool.

Is it May 12 or May 19? The MK hours on May 12 are 9:00 am-midnight and on May 19 they are 8:00-midnight.

I would definitely not make it a resort day and with the ages of your kids I'd make it a MK day. That said I think you can have the best of both. Stay at the resort in the morning and head to MK after lunch or mid afternoon and take advantage of the later hours (if your kids can handle a later day). How about a splurge on the HEA dessert party and have that be your MK fireworks night? Memorable way to end the trip!

I would definitely go to MK. I always start and end our trips at MK. You could leave around 4-5, have dinner and be back in time to finish packing and go to bed early.

I believe OP doesn't want a late night due to the time they must get up for their return flight.

I'd say MK. Unless you go constantly, MK is REALLY hard to do with just one day.
I agree. Maybe sleep in a little, and leave early so you can get to bed early. You already have that fourth day for free, so why waste it?

I would also not want to spend our last day at the resort. I would suggest going back to MK for the day or Epcot.

I'd also do MK, because of your preferences (and despite the fact that MK on Saturdays can be a little nuts).

Get your 3 FP+s for big rides you didn't get to do the first day (or want to repeat). Then I'd just concentrate on hitting those things you don't usually have time for, such as Carousel of Progress, Tiki Room, Tom Sawyer's Island, etc. when crowds are at a peak.

And keep refreshing the MDE app to pull more FP+s!

I would do a shortened day at MK to not get too exhausted. MK is definitely a two day park if you don't get regularly. AK is nice but not tops on my list and HS is not a two day park. Epcot is fun but hard to sell for your last day if it's your least favorite park. MK is our favorite so I am partial. I would take my time getting to MK and really just enjoy departure day. Maybe book an ADR breakfast, book some late morning/early afternoon FP+, visit some of the attractions that you haven't seen or show/parade and then head back to your resort. Assuming you have that night booked there as well since you are departing middle of the night so it's nice that you'll have a home base to go back to and relax and enjoy your resort amenities.

Although DHS wasn't listed as one of your options, with good FP+ selections, we have found that we can pretty much knock out DHS in a few hours these days if you don't want to see all the shows. We get FP for TT and single ride RRC. Since TSM is being worked on, you may just have to skip this one or do it first thing. The show lines move fairly quickly, so if your timing is good, you can get in them easily except possibly for VLM.

This is easy - back to MK. No way I would not use that 4th day of park tickets!

On your first MK day - don't bother with the parade as its a good time to hit rides. On your second MK day - catch the parade at the park entrance - and make it be the last thing you do in the park. It's a great end to a trip. And a good way to get your kids to leave the park without a fuss - if they know the parade will be the last thing - they will understand its going to be leaving time after it.

Now - the 8 yo I travel with would actually pick EPCOT - she would not want to skip a park and she loves the rides there and the aquarium. She'd be happy if we never left FW if it weren't for the ice cream place in France. But she's been enough now - and knows she'll be back - that she really is old enough to have input into the decision.

In my mind there are 3 main areas to explore in MK.... 1)Tomorrowland, 2) Fantasyland, and 3) Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square.

So, what I would do is spend your first MK day exploring 2 of those areas, and then spend your easy/short day in the third area. In my opinion, the mindset of making 3 Fastpasses all in the same area, and then riding shorter-line-rides the rest of the time helps make the day easy and relaxing. Also make dining reservations in the park. Minimal walking, minimal line-waiting, minimal stress on that day.

Example for that day: Sleep-in, have pool time, and head to MK around 3:00. Fastpass 3:00 Splash Mountain. 4:00 Big Thunder. 5:00 Jungle Cruise. And in between/after those rides do stand-by Pirates, Magic Carpets, Tiki Room, and maybe Haunted Mansion (but I would maybe squeeze HM in when doing FantasyLand rides on the other day.) Also grab a Dole Whip at some point :) Then dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. Great day!
