Ideas for a welcome box?

I was wondering if I made a welcome box for my sister's family if the resort could place it in their room or at the least hand it to them at check in? I was really wanting to do something either from us for their kids or from Mickey...

Also, I found some really cool water bottles at Dicks that have a mister on the top. There isn't a fan, just the mister, but they're cool as they're multi purposed!!

Sure, people ship stuff to the resorts all the time. I don't know about placing it in their rooms before check in, but you could certainly ship them a package.

And if they have young kids, you could do what I'm thinking of and so much more!

The resort will not place the box in the room. What if she gets to check-in and ends up changing the room before she enters it? (At check-in she says she really wanted a balcony/particular location, etc., they say that's not what she got but they do have it available so they switch her from the room she was supposed to get.)

If she is staying at a resort with a convention center, and you ship UPS or FedEx, the box will be sent to the convention center, not the check-in desk. She would have to go over there to get it, or call to have it brought to her room. And she would have to pay a fee to the company running the convention center office for processing, even if she goes over there to get it.

If she is staying at a resort which has a convention center and you ship USPS, it MIGHT go to the check-in desk.

If she is staying at a resort which does not have a convention center, the package will go to the check-in desk. The package that I shipped to Animal Kingdom Lodge-Jambo was at the front desk, because they don't have a convention center. But I didn't get it at check in because I was staying Club Level so I checked in on the Club Level. I called Bell Services and asked them to bring it up. They refused; that's not their "territory." So I had to go down to the front desk to get it. But it was too heavy for me to carry by myself, so they had a runner bring it up.

I'm in the process of coming up with my list of stuff to include but one thing we are doing are portable USB chargers so that ours and the kids devices can be charged as needed. I got them I think for $10 and they are quite good.

So far, here are the things that I have formatted the way I like them, to go into a binder or folder:

- Our ADRs-- in a chart with date, restaurant, park, time, confirmation number, and which family members are going. (One family is in the Deluxe DDP, 2 on regular. And we arrive one day before the rest, their return dates are staggered.)

- Cell phone numbers

- FP+ (to be phoned in Saturday by my niece.) I'll put them into a chart with day, time, location and who is doing which one.

- A map of FL by county. Our last day at WDW in 2008 was the day TS Faye arrived. It was frustrating hearing the warnings and watches by county, and not knowing how close they were.

- A list of the "top 10 frozen drinks at WDW" I pulled the info from an article and put it onto one chart with headings: "Drink, location,Alcoholic?, description "

- a list of THE BEST SNACKS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD by park

- a list of "the top counter service locations at WDW" I took info from an article and put it into a chart.

- locations of FP+ kiosks in each park

- a list of transportation routes within WDW

Great ideas!
Do you think we will need the misters at the end of September?

End of September can definitely still be very hot and humid, so the misters could be a blessing.
