Ideas for a welcome box?

Our trip this summer will be a family reunion-- my family, from Long Island, my brother in law and family from upstate, and my sister in law and her husband from CA. It's been about 3 years since all 3 siblings were in the same room at the same time, and we're really looking forward to it. Upstate has been there before; CA has been to Disneyland but not WDW. The youngest of the "kids" are my own 3; their cousins are in their 20's.

I decided last night that I want to ship a Welcome box to each family at their resort-- the flat rate USPS box. I've already picked up misters (2 for upstate, 1 for CA). I want to pick up some ponchos (WDW in summer...) I'll print up all our ADR and FP+ info. This afternoon I was online and found articles on the best snacks at WDW, the best frozen drinks at WDW, and things to do outside of the parks. I have a map of their resort. I'll get plastic page protectors and either a binder or folder, and put all the paperwork together.

What else can I include? I'm thinking the powdered drink stuff. (We've ordered bottled water for us, and I gave them the info on gardengrocer.com.)

I'm not looking for mouse ears or matching t shirts, just odds and ends that will help everyone enjoy the trip a bit more. I bought the misters knowing what a huge difference they make to us in WDW in the summer, and the idea of a box just kind of evolved from there.

Any other ideas??

Thanks for your help!

What about a small ziplock with bandaids, pain medication Chapstick? Just the "oops" items that are expensive in the parks? By using a ziplock they're all together and small enough of a package to fit in a purse/pocket.

pick up some disney trading pins on ebay. Lanyards

check out dollar store, kmart, walmart for nic knacks.

Koozies? wine opener?

glow sticks

Maybe a couple bags of snacks? A $25 Disney giftcard? A list of everyone's cell phone numbers?

He's my handy list;
Suncream and Aftersun
SPF Lip Balm
Waterproof Bag Liners
Camera Memory Card
Pennies to Press
Band Aids
Wet Wipes
Hand Sanitizer
Power Strip
Ear Plugs for anyone that's flying
Gum, as you well know, you can not purchase any onsite.
Sweets & Snacks
We also ordered our names in Disney font and purchased bottles to personalise.

I love these ideas!! I was wondering where did you get the mister fans? I'm on the hunt, want to get them before we get to Disney!!

Thank you :)

I'd add a little dollar store first aid kit and add extra bandsids, neosporn, moleskin and tape. I think all your ideas are great tho.

Do mini M&Ms still come in those plastic containers? You can include one of them with the pennies and quarters to press.

Go to walmart.com and search for " misty mate personal mister". But they're not fans, just misters

I love the 2.5 oz size, at about $10.

They're a little more at amazon

ETA: Walmart isn't showing the 2.5 ounce size, but this looks pretty similar: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Misty-Mate-Inc.-Misty-3-Oz.-Personal-Mister/19687876

Walmart has them for 7.95 in the fan section. Ours made it through 12 days in the parks earlier this month. It's the same size as the one sold in parks for 1/2 the price.

* Definitely agree with a little first aid pouch -- maybe a "Minnie" Emergency kit. Bandaids, moleskin, antibiotic cream like polysporin, solarcaine or aloe.
* hand sanitizer with a cute holder to clip onto bags. Bath & Bodyworks has stuff like that and some very cute holders.
* I think the idea of packets to add to water is good. Be aware that most contain artificial sweetners in case anyone is sensitive to those.
* lip balm with SPF and maybe a small thing of sunscreen/sunblock. If you really want to splurge, look into colorscience powder sunblock. Great for hairlines and ears and such. Was a life saver at DLR for the kids.
* mints and gum
* tum freshers -- combo mints and antacids that are freakin' brilliant. Very small and easy to carry and perfect for any upset tummies from rich Disney food.
* a disney GC in a small amount
* pins or vinylmations for trading

Are you also doing one for your own kids? I definitely would!

I don't really care for ponchos, but have found them for $1 in the camping section of Walmart so they're disposable. I'd do a small travel umbrella maybe. It can also shade you from the sun!

Snacks? Like healthy mixed nuts or something.

How about a cute backpack to hold it all?

I'm loving all these ideas!

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing one for my own family as well, though I'm not sure I'll be able to keep it a suprise. (It will have to be mailed in summer, when my kids are underfoot.) Though maybe I'll be able to sneak in some sort of snack as a suprise for them. We placed an order with Garden Grocer for the bulk of the park snacks, but we'll see.

And I LOVE the idea of a "Minnie" first aid kit!!

Keep 'em coming!

Great ideas!
Do you think we will need the misters at the end of September?

If you're going to do this, buy a box of Disney band-aids. You can put some in each Minnie Emergency kit. I've seen the Band-aids at lots of different stores (Wal-Mart, Rite Aid, CVS, Wegmans). Princesses, Mickey, etc.

I was wondering if I made a welcome box for my sister's family if the resort could place it in their room or at the least hand it to them at check in? I was really wanting to do something either from us for their kids or from Mickey...

Also, I found some really cool water bottles at Dicks that have a mister on the top. There isn't a fan, just the mister, but they're cool as they're multi purposed!!
