ideas for a special autograph book! HELP!

To all of you artsy craftsy folks, i really would appreciate any ideas, suggestions or thoughts on creating a special autograph book for my best friend's little three year. Katie, who is 3, was diagnosed with Lekemia and her wish to the make a wish foundation was a trip to WDW that will take place in May once the funds have been approved.

Anyhow, I really want to make an extra special autograph book for Katie, and for the other two little ones, and individualize them somewhat if I can. I know i could probably just go buy them each one, but I have this terrible urge to make them.

I am totally clueless when it comes to this kind of thing. I don't do arts and crafts, but I want to for these autograph books.

Any help or direction you could point me in would be so greatly appreciated by me!

We found some great cloth covered journals on clearance at Waldens book store. There are no lines in them and they were a good size and price. I then went to Wal~Mart and bought some Disney iron ons, and letter iron ons. Set the iron on low and iron away. I put the kids names on their very own book and a charecter or two. I would suggest you get a GOOD ink pen and not the pens at WDW...we had sooooo much trouble with those! Tie a fancy ribbon throught the binding of the book and tightly to the pen. Be sure to put her name and a mailing address inside the book.

I learned this tip while waiting at line to buy something. The cashier had the family write it in immediately. She said the find tons of them everyday, and can't return them to their proper owner, because they don't know who they are. It was such great advice, I didn't mind waiting in line for them to finish

If you wanted to be really creative...and do some work after the trip you could make a photo autograph book.
You could get those mat stacks at Michaels and then using a couple of ring holders punch holes in them and put them together. The characters sign on each card.
Then when they come home have them give you a copy of her with each character. Then on trim the cards and matt them on nice decorative paper. Then depending on the size book matt the photo of her and adhere to the page...it would then be a scrapping character book. I know someone on here has pictures. I didn't think of this idea but it is a great one!

An idea I have read about both here and on the Creative Memories info I get is to buy a 7x7 sized (or around that) scrapbook and get each character to sign a page...take a picture of your child with each character---try to have the character to sign towards the bottom or top, or if they write big, just mount the picture on the opposite page. You can decorate the pages with Disney stickers too, which Creative Memories carries and it comes with an idea book of how to lay the stickers and papers out so you have a ready to go album. I have all the supplies, or you can contact any Creative Memories consultant near you- your post really touched me and I would be happy to help you in any way that I can. Of course, the homemade ideas sound great too, but to me this sounds like an album her family will want to cherish for a long, long time and Creative memories has a lifetime guarantee on their albums. Alice, thanx for the offer, but I am really wanting to do autograph books so my friend won't have to worry about buying them for each of the kids. I can use those ideas though to help her make a scrapbook.

I have been thinking about this same thing. I plan on purchasing a 6x6 album from Michaels (or JoAnn's or another store like that). They have some scrapbooking paper that has princess and several Disney related stickers. I was planning on making each page a different color (by buying paper and trimming it to fit and then adhering it). You can also embellish the inside with stickers.

On the outside, I was going to decorate it with my niece's name and include stickers and other fun things. Afterwards, you can always add pictures and stories to the book to make it more personable.

I read this idea here before our last trip & really liked it. Get an I-Zone instant camera & take a picture of her with each character to put on the pages. They could even put the pictures into the book when they go back to their room to rest every day. Since she's only 3 she probably doesn't read. This way she would know whose signature she was looking at after she got home. Just note that these pix are VERY small - so you'd only want to take the head/face of the characters.

This are all super ideas. My friend is still waiting to see if Katie's wish is going to be funded. If so, I will be trying all these different ideas to make special autograph books for Katie and her siblings. Keep those thoughts coming!!! I am just so all thumbs that i hope I can make something without making it look like crap slung together!
