Ideas for a kids room?

Wer moving into a new house. My 3 yr old son for the first time in his life will have a room of his own. Now I need ideas to decorate it. Nothing very expensive. He already has a bed and nothign else. Plan to do it in 500-700$. ANy ideas are wlecome. Also I was thinking of a theme which will last him for atleast 5 more years. Any input is appreciated.

Sports...last until high school and special sports can be added as he shows interest.

Our boys have an outer space theme in their room. Their comforters even have glow in the dark stars. We have one wall painted black and I used glow in the dark paint to make distant stars and galaxies. We have some photos and other space stuff that we got at Kennedy Space Center for the walls.
