Has anyone made a High School Musical birthday cake? I am looking to do something different for DD birthday, not just the plain old store bought HSM cake. Any ideas, photos, etc. Thanks!!
but I made a 9x13 rectangular cake, and frosted it white. Then I outlined "High School Musical" with a toothpick as well as I could in the font like the movie. I piped these in with yellow stars (very easy) and piped the rest in red stars. At the bottom I printed "Happy Birthday R**" and left that white around it. Then I put alternating red/white M&Ms all around the border. (That really made it look cool.) I usually spend hours making a cake, but this was quick, and exactly what she wanted. I have LOTS of ideas for a party too!
If you have a Carvel ice cream store near you, they have a great HSM cake that we got for our DD's 7th bday in Feb. Even comes with HSM plastic case to hold CDs or DVDs.
My friend made a HS musical cake for her DD that was incredible. It was a tall, wide round cake with music notes piped on the sides. On the top, she had the HS Musical logo, and then she attached the characters on lollipop sticks. She scanned and laminated the picture of them all dancing that was on the invitation. In place of Gabriella's face, she inserted her DD's face, so it looked like the DD as Gabriella. It was amazing!
