This November will be my 20th wedding anniversary. DH and I want to do something special. I am torn between a tropical island somewhere, a cruise, or the obvious Disney. They would likely be similar in price.
The tropical island - well we live at the beach so not as big a deal for me.
The cruise - we are thinking this sounds nice, but maybe save it for the 25th.
Disney - this is what I want to do. We haven't been to the parks for 5 yrs. The longest we have been without a trip. My kids are all working their way thru highschool, and then college. They are very involved in sports and it seems impossible for there ever to be a time when they can all get off for a week. Even in the summer they are in camp and other training for their sports. They all have summer jobs, and due to personal commitments each of them will be missing 3 weeks from their jobs without a Disney trip. So if I want to get to Disney I'm gonna have to do it without them and the anniversary makes me not feel so guilty about it.

If we pick Disney does anybody have some suggestions to make it romantic? We normally stay at PO. I don't really want to go above a mod so which one is most romantic. What about a mod with 2 nights in a deluxe. Would the mod seem like a letdown if we did this?
Victoria and Albert's - who has done this? Worth the $$$?
We will be doing the Fairytale package so we will have 7 days which seems like alot when we don't have to cart around kids. I will be doing one day in Universal also. Maybe even stay at a hotel there for one night.
Do you think Disney can be a big enough deal for a 20th celeb.
Thanks guys.

Well, considering I don;t know if I will every giet married gain to even make it to 20 years :).....................

I would vote for WDW or maybe a Disney cruise. I am sure others will be able to help out with suggestions, though

Disnee Dad Says...............................................Once again I will step in and give advice that may be worthless!

Dollar for dollar I think the mods are the best value. If you really stay at PO, I would switch this trip to Dixie Landings. Ya, ya I know it's PO retirement home something, but DIXIE LANDINGS if you stay at the mansions can be really romantic, wide open spaces, and quiet and uncrowded in November. Been there in November, more than once, and you can take the boat to DD where DH will no doubt splurge on many deserved presents!!!
The bump up at the end is a great idea, we stayed at AKL for last three nights of our last trip.
I assume you won't rush on this trip, so maybe the last couple nights, home from the parks early, a nice plate of cheese, salami, and bread, and wine on the balcony, at the AKL, with a savaanah view, where you will see wildebeast maybe 100 feet away, giraffes a little farther, and many other animals.
Warning, the rooms are about the same size as the mods, but the savaanah view is priceless.

PO French Quarter, our favorite place, is apparently closed. I knew it was closed before, but then I thought it had opened back up. Now it's closed for rehab. So it would have to be Dixie Landings.
I too think the mods are great. Definitely more bang for the buck.
