I have been to Disney 4 times - for my fifth trip I am going with my daughter and my parents. My parents haven't been there since it was just Magic Kingdom. I don't think they realize how magical it is. Anyway, I have a Mickey Punch for scrapbooking. I punched a few hundred Mickey shapes that look like hidden mickey's. We went to visit my parents and hid them all over the house. I told them everytime they found a hidden mickey, it's yelling "We're going to Disney World!" Before we left, we pulled back the covers and sprikled them all over their bed and then remade the bed. I think they are finally getting excited.

OH I would be so mad if I found MICKEY HEADS in my bed and I am a die hard fan...can't imagine how they took that one...BUT I hate confetti soooo! Have you gotten them the Disney Planning Video on the disney website...its FREE and wow it gets me SO EXCITED. OR maybe plan an excursion that they would LOVE....rent a pontoon boat at the Poly for $40 for half an hour (ask for AAA discount) OR spend some time with them making an itinerary. My friends and husband were not that excited I got them on the boards and started showing them stuff to do and THEY ARE SO EXCITED NOW. OR maybe they are just being nice :)

I actually like the confetti idea. If DH did that to me....I'd be soooo happy  and he'd know it too :love2: (He's not the Disney nut that I am but that would show he's in tune with me)

We have planning nights. We do one or more of the following:
::MickeyMo Talk about our food plans and park schedules (everyone has a don't miss for each park)
::MickeyMo Watch a Disney movie as a family (lights turned down, popcorn, the works!!)
::MickeyMo Play a Disney themed board game

Have A Great Time!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the great ideas!!! :goodvibes -

Just to let you know, the Mickey heads are pretty big, so they are easy to clean up.

I will actually be their tour guide. They want to spend most of their time in Epcot, so we will split up for some of the time. Maybe that's why they aren't overly excited like me..... they just have to follow the leader without thinking about it. My daughter had so much fun hiding the "Hidden Mickey's" - I sprinkled some in her lunch box today. He he he :)

I think that's great. Of course we are all excited to take a flippin' break regardless of where it is but I just might start sending some "excitement" messages of my own thanks to your inspiration.

We have Disney parties. We had one last month - we decorated with red, yellow and black crepe paper, a giant Mickey head balloon, red tablecloth, Mickey ears and blowers from the party store. We had Disney candy and decorated cupcakes with Mickey, Princess and Pooh candy confetti and Mickey Heads shaped with icing. We watched the Travel Channel Christmas specials since we are going in December.

We are having another party next month. I already have some new decorations and will be giving out Mickey goody bags with Disney candy and a trading pin for everyone who is going (my MIL and FIL are not going but have in the past so they come to the parties) and whatever else I can find. We will have a Mickey cake and watch some more Disney specials. We usually go during October for Food & Wine Festival and MNSSHP so we will be wearing our Disney Pirate costumes from last year and everyone will be bringing food from the different countries in Epcot.

We also email Disney news and trivia to each other. And pictures.

Yes, we are Disney Freaks or Geeks or whatever but we have fun!!

I am new to this discussion board but I had one more idea for you. I am the planner and keeper of exciting for our Grand Gathering coming up in Dec 06. I started emailing my family members a trivia question once a week to get them excited. I have the WDW trivia book by Louis Mongello and at first they thought I was crazy but now every wednesday they tune into their email for the next bit of trivia! I have to say we have been having a great time and the kids are enjoying it too. I have the whole family here for Thanksgiving this year and we (the kids and I) are going to make count down paper chains with a trivia question on every link.

Huge Mickey Fan

CAN I COME LIVE WITH YOU!!! That sounds like SO MUCH FUN!

I could use some ideas too...
BF is just kind of "going along for the ride." However, when we get there he will be on the phone with his mother telling her how great WDW is (happens everytime)
So, I'll ask "arent you excited?" and I get a "uh huh"...I think its programed in his DNA to just not get excited...

UM HOW CAN YOU NOT ITS DISNEY!!! DUH!

So, any insight on how to get him excited would be greatly appreciated!

PS I love the confetti idea...he would hate it

:teeth: The more the merrier! I picked up some Disney stuff at the Target dollar spot for the goody bags today. Just to clarify, my inlaws are getting goody bags too, just not the trading pins (gotta save those for the world).

DH's aunt and sister are going with us. We were all at dd's soccer game yesterday and chose which countries we were bringing food from.

Last time, DH combined pictures from us, his sister, his aunt and his mom along with video from us and his mom and made a two disc dvd. It was so cool! DD2 loves watching it! We gave them out at Christmas and everybody who went on the trip stayed late at our Christmas party to watch the video together.

That's so awesome!

DS is excited to go, but the only way i think DH would be excited is if i told him it was free trip LOL.
