Idea on how to pick cities for the DisUnplugged Tour...

Since the USA is rather large, I have an idea on how to pick the cities for the Disunplugged Tour.

Each city that wants a visit from the Podcast tour start a First Givings Page on a particular date, let's say February 1st. The page stays open for 3 months. The top 5 to 10 cities that raises the most money will get a visit from the Podcast crew.

Of course this is just an idea. It is up to Pete and the Podcast crew on how they want to do this, but I figured this would help raise money overall. If 100 cities participate that is 100 cities worth of donations.

AGAIN, this is just an idea. Thoughts???

While I think that's an admirable idea (trying to raise more money for GKTW), what it means is that the city with the most money will likely get the Podcast, leaving less affluent areas out of the running. Basing things like this on money in hard times like these is a bit unfair.

True. That is why it is just an idea.

You know Pete and the rest of the Podcast team will not make it easy. They will come up with some kind of idea to support GKTW. They will make us work for the chance for them to come to our town......

Maybe they could use that method to pick a few cities and then do something else, even a random drawing, for the rest. Say they wanted to visit 10 cities. T ey could do the fund raiser to pick three, maybe look at site visitor locations and pick three high population areas for the site and then random drawing for the other four?
