We are staying near port the night before our cruise. What if one of us goes to port early and gets a bording card. Then can that person leave (to pick us up and drop off the rental car), and come back later? What time does bording start? How much time is between each group being called?

Don't know. The process is still a work in progress and seems to be changing from cruise to cruise at this point. One thing I have read is they were requring all adult members of the party be present at check-in.

As far as showing up then leaving.. sure you could do that, but the only parking lot that is not pay to park is the vendor lot, and I don't know if you'd be able to park the car there just long enough to check in then whoever's returning the car leave. They do stage the early arrivals in there.

But, the cruise terminal has a wonderful area for just dropping off then running the rental car back. So you could at least drop everything off there and have one member of the party run the car back at least.
