I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this, but with the huge popularity of the ABC show "Lost," wouldn't it be great if Disney designed a "Lost" attraction on the old Discovery Island? Thoughts? Ideas?

I dont think so, I think it'd be better for Disney to make new rides based off of new ideas not ABC shows. I mean could you have a George Lopez ride, or a Seinfield ride? I just dont think it's the type of thing that would fit into Disney. Even though they own ABC, when people think of Lost I dont think they think Disney's Lost, while on the other hand they do think Disney's Beauty and the Beast. With rides like The Haunted Mansion, and Teacups, and It's a Small World, I just dont think a Lost ride is the type for a Disney park

but Disney is slowly making sure people know of thier ABC affiliates:

ABC Commissary
Who wants to be a millionaire
Drew Carey
etc

I don't think a Lost attraction wouldn't work simply becuase it would require to much knowledge of the series. Anyone who hasn't been watching Lost on TV would be, well, lost.

Still, they really should do something with that island. There was talk some years ago about turning it in a Myst attraction. That might have been cool, but it might have excluded anyone who hadn't played the game. Having some sort of upcharge interactive adventure out there would be great, but it could only work if you kept the number of people admitted down to a reasonable number.

The island was original Pirate themed (before it became Discovery Island). That still strikes me as a good idea, especially for kids. Think of all the trreasure hunt type of activities you could send familiies on.

Another I idea would be to turn it into the Island of Mystery. You could place illusions, fog machines and various special effects all over the island. That way, you could give it the feeling of the island from Lost without the need to know the plot from the show. There could be mystical quests to solve, scary caverns to explore, magic shows to watch... the possiblities are endless.

Two other thoughts that were tossed around were a full-blown version of the video game "Myst" and a sort of honeymoon retreat for adults only. Both ideas were tossed in the late 1990's.

We are a whole season behind here in the UK. I hope it won't have any spoilers at this new attraction!!!!

Can't wait. I might be a bit nervous on the flight home though!!! In season 1 Hurley made a golf course would this be inlcuded as well as the polar bears?
