Idea for child safety

Why not just write it with a sharpie? Save $29 and not make your child abillboard for the company.

I'm sorry but I think that is a really bad idea. Do you really want to put that kind of ink on (and eventually) into your child's skin? Wouldn't it wash off right away too or need to be really scrubbed off?

The company logo is very small, not huge like a billboard, and if I'm going to put my kids in Nike Sneakers, TCP Jeans, and a WDW t-shirt, I'm not going to draw the line at a safety product.

I think more parents SHOULD know how to find safety products like this for their children if they choose to take protective measures, and I don't mind at all when someone asks me what the Tottoos are when they notice them or how to get some for their children.

Just my POV, but of course, I'm the one whose child was found because of one of these! The cost was only $15 for a set of 15 of them, not $29 for 1 as previously posted.

Wow these look great - I currently use the shoe tags - but this would be good also - I wonder how good they hold up - since we will be swimming almost everyday - Anyone know?

Hi! Maybe someone else can answer better because we only went swimming once for a few hours because we were only there for a 3-day weekend, but ours stayed on both kids and we showered after the pool and went back to the parks and had no problems. The website says they are water resistant and can be used at the beach, so I think they should be ok for use in the pool.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, that was the price I saw.:confused3That looked like the smallest set. https://www.shop.tottoos.org/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=5&categoryId=2 + $3 shipping. Guess I missed the big print...LOL

My kids have had more than a bit of ink on them, so if I were that concerned that my child might need this information on them, I would certainly just write it on. I have found tape on their T, or dog tags to work just as well.

I'm glad your child was found with this. Just giving another, less expensive, idea. And, I would object to the www. on my kids. Different strokes for different folks.:)

For people with medical problems, MedicAlert is a much better choice. Not only is it a permanent identification tag, but it also has an 800 number that can be called to get medical and contact information for the specific person the tag is on in an emergency.

Also since we are talking child saftey

Remember to take a fresh picture with each clothing change during the day having this will help when you are in a panic and can't think clearly.

we bought clear address labels. i printed a sheet on the computer w/
childs name
parents name
cell phone
name of hotel
we put one of these labels on the back of each child's shirt every day. b/c they are small and clear i was not worried about a stranger calling them by name. but i knew that if they were lost the important information would be found quickly. i also told the girls what they had on and why.

Like most of you, I've tried anything and everything under the sun for my 4 kids whenever we go on a trip. You name it, we've done it, including the marker on the arms thing, which btw is not a good idea at all per my kids' pediatrician.

I had heard about Tottoos on this site and other sites. I saw them at a local event here in Philly. They showed me what it looked like and it's the coolest thing. It doesn't come off easily like a sticker would, and it's water resistant too, which was a problem for my kids whenever we'd go to the beach or water park. (Tags and labels I had used either wouldn't stay on, or was a pain in the a$$ to remove and put on their bathing suits, etc.)

I'm a single dad of 4 kids, so keeping them in my sights is a major undertaking on these trips. My ex-wife would always just let them run off, even in stores, and would just try to find them later, which does not sit well with me...

Anyways, I got a basic kit from Tottoos a couple of weeks ago, and used them on my kids last weekend in Washington, DC. It worked out great! Even though we didn't go to a waterpark type place, it did rain pretty hard on our last day, and the tottoos got wet, but stayed on as advertised. My kids all liked having a "tattoo" on them, even my 10 year old. I know, I know, a 10 year old would know my name and number by heart, but "just in case"...anyway, he liked it and wore it without arguing.

I have already placed a re-order, as our next trip is to Disney (4th time!!) in July, and we'll be hitting Blizzard Beach for sure!

If you haven't tried it, I'd suggest you atleast invest $15 for it. It's worked great for me!

I wen to WalMart and got those dogtags that you can customize. Don't remember the cost, but my kids loved picking them out. I had their name, our name, cell phone number, and hotel name printed on them. I think these are a good idea too.

My sil did this as well prior to our trip in October 06 and she uses them often not just at Disney. They now have Disney themes !

Very inexpensive and you only have to purchase it once. My SIL put the childs first name, her first name and her cellphone number. THey wear them on a shoe when visiting park/zoo/mall etc not just at Disney. For the waterparks she put them on the suit strap.

I'm glad the tags worked out for you, because my kids had a bad time with it. My 10 yo refused to wear it, but my other ones did. The main problem I had with the tags was that the writing was way too small to easily read without having a stranger getting too close to my kids, which I didn't feel good about. Anyway, ours (didn't get at Walmart) also set off the sensors at the airport security one time, and it was a bit of a hassle, but just had to remember to remove them on our return flight.

I think the important things is to just have some added measure to find your kid if he/she gets lost. It sucks to have to walk around to try to find them and then eventually going to a security person to tell them you lost your kid! LOL
