We just got back from a wonderful trip to WDW and USF/IOA. While we were in line for Big Thunder, I couldn't believe my eyes: a woman was talking on her cell phone WHILE RIDING BTMR!! She's sitting there in the last seat, holding her cell phone with one hand and the lap bar with the other hand while it's whipping around all those bends. Unbelievable!

Do you suppose she was trying to "share the magic" with someone who couldn't make the trip?

I'd file this under "stupid human tricks".....

BTMR, one of our favorite rides. It's tradition (well since 2/2000) for me to video the family riding. Once we get home we can't wait to see how silly we are bouncing up and down and swaying side to side. We get a laugh each time and it's a way to bring the ride with us when we are not there.

I would loved to be the person on the other end of that phone call.

Last time we were on BTMR, 2 girls carried on plastic cups filled with water. They were empty by the time the ride was over. ;)

ToN was my friend and my favorite on our trip together. I called her in the middle of it on my last trip. I yelled into the phone, "I can't hear a word you might be saying but listen." I held the phone out. She was thrilled to be hearing the music and the excitement live. No, I didn't stay on the line for the entire parade, but she loved the little bit of magic I sent her over the phone line.

This reminds me of when we were at EPCOT last Christmas, making the rounds to see the "Santas" at each country. In Italy "La Befana" (female) came out and began to talk and a guy right in front was talking on his cell phone. She went over to him and took it from him and asked him who he was talking to. He said the name "Kim" or something, and she starts talking to the person like, "Hey, Kim, we're doing a show here, so he'll call you back later, okay?" It was hilarious!

While we were on the Tomorrowland Speedway the lady in front of us was trying to videotape and drive at the same time:rolleyes: What the heck is there to even tape:confused:

I wanted to hear my mom's reaction to the lobby at AKL, so she called me when she was walking in...:)

Last year I walked into a restroom and there was a someone on the phone in one of the stalls. I overheard him say "Well I've finally got a moment to give you a call from Disney......."

If they only knew......

My son use to call me from the parks when he was living in Kissimmee. One call was while he was on Splash Mtn. Made me want to cry as it was January here and we had about a foot of snow on the ground.

Last year some guy was trying to video while riding TOT. Needless to say he stopped filming after the first drop and held on to the camera for dear life!

Oh I can't help but laugh as I think how silly these people must have looked! LOL

My parents think it is a great idea to call me each time they dine in 'the world' Actually they just love to rub it in that they are there and I am not! LOL My dad is a Cast Member so I usually get "the call" once a week! :p

I love it when people call me from WDW.......makes me want to be there all the more... I think someone said on this thread she was trying to share the magic.... maybe that is the case..

I must be a strange person - When I am on a ride I want to enjoy it not conduct a telephone call!!!!

Our friend that lives near WDW occassionally calls from PotC. The signal isn't that great, but you can hear the "Dead Men Tell No Tales".

Before one of our trips, a co-worker asked that I call him from Space Mountain. I ended up calling my voicemail and recording the whole ride. It isn't much to listen to, but it was pretty funny.
