I really don't know what to call them -- 4 years ago when we went to Disney the CM in MK gave me a tag that was a Mickey head that I could write ds's name and contact info on to have on him if he wondered away. So, I realize that he's 4 years older now -- he does know our cell phone numbers -- but do they still give some kind of tag or should I consider coming up w/ some other type of id tag. We do have the MB -- it seems like I read they were trackable? or had the contact info in them? Maybe I'm just being paranoid that we'll lose him - although it's been known to happen in places much smaller than Disney.

The bands aren't trackable. But if he was brought to Guest Relations or the resort front desk they could potentially look up your phone number on the resort reservation. No one else would be able to access the info.

Some people get one of those "I'm celebrating" buttons and write their number on it. Just make sure your kid knows its there. I can't tell you how many times when the parents are reunited they say its on a card in their pocket or backpack. We don't look and the kids don't know or remember its there!

I was going to make an ID/contact card for each of my boys. They are 6, 8, and 9. They each have a mini fanny pack to wear in the parks with snacks, autograph pen, etc, so I was going to put it in the inside pocket of that. They are old enough to know where it is I think. We already started talking to them that if they get separated from the group they are to stay in one place and look for a cast member and give them their card.

On a side note, even if your child can remember your phone number they are often upset and forget the area code!
