Im hoping someone can help me with this: My stepson is now 21 but does not have his license. Hopefully he will have his permit as of tomorrow. Will he be served at the bar with a Massachusetts State ID or will he need a Liquor ID?

If they card him, as long as he has a valid state issued ID (doesn't have to be a drivers license) that has a photo, address and birth date showing he's 21 or older, they should serve him.

Thanks Michael! The poor kid...he wont have his permanent ID card in time for when we leave, the temp one doesn't have a pic on it so the airline told him he needs to bring his Student ID with him to match that pic to the details on the temp ID card so he is all set for clearing security. I'm assuming the restaurants/bars wont take accept that? I wonder if they will accept his permit as it does have a pic but its a paper permit, not a card. Ugh. Yay for 2 bdrm villas and stocking the fridge! :rolleyes2

He can't get a state ID with a picture in time? They don't make them for you on the spot? Does he have a passport? I think he's going to run into issues if its not a hard copy of a state ID with a picture or a passport. I don't think a piece of paper is going to work.
