Magic Kingdom yesterday 12/30/15 during the fireworks. Way too crowded.

Yuck. I'm surprised they didn't close the gates before it got that crowded.

I'd take an at capacity ship over an anywhere near capacity park any day. At least a ship at capacity is designed to accommodate all safely in virtually all areas and activities are spread out to avoid all at one location alone, and even when they do (like the sail-away party or fireworks) you still can move around and experience in multiple locations. Events in the parks (parades, fireworks or other special activity, early closing, high season opening) concentrate visitors at times IMHO in an unsafe manner.

I'm going to be sick just looking at that. (actually it doesn't look much worse than Disneyland hub felt this late July/early August, as we just tried to get OUT before the fireworks, and I nearly lost my mind in that crowd)

Agree 100% with hardis5, we have been on DCL vacations where the ship is filled to capacity and have never felt overwhelmed by the crowd. We have never booked a WDW vacation during peak season, we know two families traveling together that have (Christmas week) and only one person in the group that said they would do it again. We have only booked WDW trips during value season and I still dislike the crowds that gather during the parades (we skip them now) and fireworks (real drag getting out of the park).

We just got home today from camping at Fort Wilderness for the past week. We did not go to any of they parks. They close the MK each day by 2:30 because they were at capacity. No way would I venture into there when it's that crowded. Lovely week at the fort, not crowded at all.

Yes from the Castle. That's the train station in the background

I've pretty much retired from all theme parks. I'm so glad my kids prefer cruising.

And here I was wishing I was there after watching the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks on YouTube lol. I've changed my mind. That does not look like fun! :scared:
