Hi there,
Some time ago I bought a digital scrapbook program from Sam's Club called "Scrapbook Factory Deluxe." I'm rather disappointed in this kit as it is not very user friendly, and the images are quite cartoonish. Not really what I was expecting. Can anyone suggest to me another digital scrapbook program that I could buy that has images that look like real life ( crafty type embellishments). I want my embellishements to lok crafty, not just like another piece of clip art.

I do not do full scrapbooking, I just put borders around my pictures and than add a title, or an embellishment, than slip the 4x6 picture into a regular photo album. I feel this serves my need to be creative with out spending the much needed time on preparing a whole page.
Right now I am trying to work on a book from a cruise/ fishing excursion. I know that there are some free digital downloads out there. I got some before, but I can't seem to find them now. Can anyone tell me where I can find some free digi kits or borders that may help me with my cruise pictures?

Thank you!

I don't do digital scrapbooking but do make great, easy photobooks at shutterfly. here is a link if you want to peek at one. You can work on them and then save the material and work on it later. They always run sales, so i just wait till a sale before I order it. http://community.shutterfly.com/gal...g2aOW7Ny5YgMU5mNE&emid=pbgallcom&linkid=link7

People just rave over the books, they are colorful and very study. Shutterfly has great customer service too.

Enjoyed looking at your Shutterfly photobook! It looks awesome! :thumbsup2 I've considered using that site before, but never actually completed a project. I was a little surprised that you could include Photopass pics in your book...did you buy the CD with the copyright release thing? Did shutterfly question it?

Yes, I did purchase the CD but they never questioned if I did have the release or not. I have used other pics that I scanned though(like school pictures) and they have never questioned it.

Although shutterfly is nice for borders on prints, it does not allow me to put little graphics or embellishments on them.
Does anyone know where I can download a free digital kit that has a cruise theme, or fishing/nautical theme?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

I use Photo Shop Elements 6. I have done lots of 4x6 layouts to put into little "brag books." They're cheap to print and fast to do. Plus the brag books are handy to carry in my purse so that everyone gets to see my great pics!

There are freebies to be had all over the place. Check out this thread here:

A lot of these are free, a lot you pay for. I'm sure there are some cruise like kits in there.
Also, what you have is not a kit, it is a program. Have a look at the Digi Scrap FAQ thread as well as the Digi Scrappers threads to get ideas. What you're talking about is sort of like hybrid. Something you'll want to keep in mind is that when you print pictures they get expanded or have "bleed." So if you are adding borders and go to print you are going to get your edges cut off. You will have to resize to account for bleed. I'd like to give you advice on that but I've never been real successful with 4x6s or 5x7s. For a traditional 12x12 digi page it would be 1/4 inch in on all sides.

I'm a big fan of the SotryBook Creator Plus Software from Creative Memories. It is user friendly and has some great predesigned pages to get you started and you can use all of the fun kits out there, too, once you get comfortable making your own pages. We have a whole thread going about it here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1826831 I make my pages in SBC+ and upload them to Shutterfly to be made into books. You can see the one book I made here: ttp://community.shutterfly.com/gallery/aboutme/start.sfly?alias=JessicaK349
