Read a rumor that the guns are returning to the Jungle Cruise in both MK and DL. Anyone hear anything?

Old news. Ouimet found out that the guns were no longer used & campaigned to get them back at DL. Soon after WDW announced that they would do the same.

Go Matt.

Here's the story from MiceAge.com
Another upcoming closure that will be worth the wait is the Jungle Cruise. We'd already told you that the guns will be returning to this classic Disneyland attraction that had been emasculated and given the politically correct treatment by former Cynthia's former Attractions Director brought over from the Disney Stores back in the 90's. And the back to basics concept for this attraction is going to even scrap the 10 year old concept of the "1936 theme" that was created to tie it in with the Indy ride next door. That 1936 angle was played up extensively in the queue, and in the first few moments of the ride itself as the boats sailed by the exit and exterior queue area of Indy.

But now a new wall will be built, heavily themed but definitely a wall, all along the riverbank where the boats pass the Indy queue and entrance. The passengers in the Jungle Cruise boats will have their attention directed off to the port side of the boat, rather than the starboard side where Indy is, as they pass through a reworked "Rain Forest" opening scene. And with that wall and some new eye candy, the passengers on the Jungle Cruise will no longer encounter the Indy theme, and these two Adventureland E Ticket attractions will be both figuratively and literally separated after their shotgun wedding 10 years ago.

The rest of the Jungle Cruise experience will be quite similar to what passengers see today. However the flora and fauna along the way will be extensively freshened and repaired. They will be going to great lengths to remove a great deal of the overgrown Asian bamboo that is now found all over the attraction, regardless of which environment or world region is supposed to be presented. Instead of the endless bamboo, the WDI horticulturists will be returning the ride back to its original concept of continent-specific foliage, so when you are traveling past African animals you will see African plants and trees, and when you turn into the Indian subcontinent you will see plantlife indigenous to an Indian environment, etc. All those worn out animatronics and non-functioning special effects will be repaired and replaced as well.

The sum effect of this massive beautification project will be a Jungle Cruise that isn't radically different from today's version story-wise, but one that looks fresh and vibrant and well thought out, but without a tenuous connection to a 1936 jungle outpost in an Indiana Jones movie. And of course the ride will once again come equipped with brave and hearty skippers equipped with real Colt pistols, rather than just an emergency air horn and cynical jokes about Disneyland management.
