Do I need any sort of ID for my children (ages 7 & 10) when we check in at the airport? It has been a while since they have flown, and I can't remember if we need to bring any ID for them.

We have never been asked for ID for the children. But to be on the safe side, I always bring copies of their birth certificates, and for my DD5, every year we get one of those Ident-a-kid cards that I carry with me.

Never have been asked for ID for kids only the adults..

We're flying from LGA next Fri and were told to bring ID for the kids, however we have paperless tickets so everyone needs ID. Had to schlep to the safety deposit box to get the birth certificates over the weekend.

We went in Dec. and took an Id for our dd just incase. Boy am I glad we did. We were asked to show it each time we boarded. The week we left we went to the license bureau and got a state id for her. This looks just like a drivers liscense with her photo, height, weight etc. It came in very handy. Our flight was canceled and we needed to board a different plane for that reason we were put through the extensive search 2 times in one day and definately needed the Id. I highly suggest taking at least a birth certificate.:earsgirl:
