Yes they have REAL iced tea and lunch and dinner. Even had real iced tea at Topsiders! That is very exciting.

Our head server said they will have Splenda sometime soon. They are still working out the arrangements (how many zillions of packets does one order for 3000 people?:)).

He noticed my Splenda trash on the table...I carried my own with me everywhere. It will be nice to not need 2 weeks worth of Splenda next May!

Having Ssplenda is great news. It was a real issue when I cruised in August since I can't use Equal at all. Most of the diabetic desserts were amde with Equal so I was out of luck.

I took my own Splenda on board also. I was so excited about the REAL iced tea that I started a post about it when I got back.

I'm glad to hear that they will soon be carrying Splenda too.

OK, I will admit it. I am a Splenda ignoramus! What is the advantage of Splenda over NutraSweet?
And why is it so expensive??

:D Thanks

Oh yay! I won't have to carry my own on next year hopefully! :)

That is great news.

Splenda is made from sugar, but does not contain all the bad stuff which is not good for diabetics...sorry, I can't remember the correct term for it...just stuff.

Splenda is a natural product rather than chemically produced like the little pink and blue packet stuff. It also does not leave that icky after taste in your mouth like the others. It, as far as the info the Splenda people sent me and my doctor, is safe for kids since it is a natural product made from sugar.

My dad, who's been a diagnosed diabetic for some 20 years loves Splenda and like many people carry his own personal supply with him where ever he travels. You can get more information on the product at www.splenda.com

Folks who are phenylketonuircs can not use Nutrasweet (chemical name aspartame).
Other folks, like me, get headaches from it.
Other than diet RC Cola and Diet Rite, every diet soda I know of uses Nutrasweet. They use splenda
Splenda goes not have the side effects.

TVguy, glad I'm not the only one who gets headaches from Aspartame(Nutrasweet). Only, I'd call them MIGRANES. They put me to bed so I avoid that stuff like the plague.

Haven't tried the Splenda yet. Guess the Nutrasweet reaction made me a little gun shy.

Has anybody made Kool Aid with Splenda? You can't tell the difference. I just wish the baker's bag of Splenda was a bit more reasonable!

Thanks for the education!

Yes to all the above :) I'm allergic to both nutrasweet and sacchrin so I'm so glad they invented Splenda!

You can also BAKE with Splenda with no problems. Great stuff. I am going on my cruise next month, but I am bring my Splenda just in case!

Great for making the Kool-Aid!

I am allergic to aspartame, so I am so happy about Splenda!

Splenda can be used in place of sugar to bake/cook with, it measures exactly the same..and tastes wonderful.

Now, if they would only start using it in more items..like the diet pop..we would be good to go.

First of all - I love kool aid with splenda. Also, I brew Iced tea with it. It rocks!

Second, believe it or not, the Iced Tea is NOT brewed. It is Nestea syrup mixed with water at the fountain. It is the best Iced Tea - brewed or not. I tasted it somewhere else and said "DCL Iced tea!"

Hi web,
I saw your post and just had to respond. A friend of mine called the 800 number on the box and they sent her a list. There are many foods that contain Splenda.

Hope this helps

A ton of diet drinks have Splenda now, just not a lot of Colas. Albertson's has a great Cherry limeade made with Splenda. Almost as good as Sonic per hubby. I need to figure out how to make a great lemonade with just Splenda. I've got it with 1/2 and 1/2 sugar/ splenda....

FYI Scott, the Iced Tea is now BREWED in the restaurants for dinner (and lunch it seems.) It is still the syrup mixture at the beverage station and at topsiders. This is a new change and was just started in May from what I understand.

Trust me--I asked because I was going to brew my own as usual at dinner and my server let me know that they had begun brewing the tea in the restaurants. It was WONDERFUL to have real brewed iced tea on the ship for the first time ever (that I didn't have to brew my own at the table.)

Splenda is in Diet RC Cola. I think it is in some of the Arizona drinks as well.
