Iced Coffee

Hi Everyone....I have developed a small iced coffee addiction since my last visit. Staying at POP in February....will there be iced coffee at the beverage station or anywhere at the resort or will I have to ice it myself???

I believe POP Century has iced coffee. But if I'm not mistaken, they are the Starbucks bottled iced coffee.

DS is very limited, based on our personal experience, and didn't wow us (near Boatrights).

I have and ice coffee addiction too. On our trip this past November, I had groceries delivered from Safeway and ordered the STarbucks black unsweetened ice coffee and coffee Mate. I packed disposable ice coffee cups/straws and got ice from the ice machine and kept it in the mini fridge freezer. (The mini fridge at th Boardwalk had a freezer but I’m not sure they all do). It was so great being able to leave my room in the morning with an ice coffee, especially at the Boardwalk where coffee is not easily available.

I've always been an iced coffee drinker. I generally don't like hot things, something about the concept of getting something hot and having to wait to cool off just doesn't jive with me. It's like, I want my coffee now, not 45 minutes from now when it is tolerable to drink. But I digress.

From what I have seen, if a resort has an iced coffee machine, its usually one of those flavored, milked, sweetened iced latte type of machines. I am someone who drinks my coffee black. More often than not I have to put ice into hot coffee. While I am not a huge fan of Starbucks, that seems to be the only place(s) on property I can get a tolerable black iced coffee. There may be a few other places here and there, but they usually have that weird stale deli coffee taste to it. (I guess I am pickier about my iced coffee than I thought)

UGH....I hate having to add ice to hot coffee because it waters it down and I don't like my coffee full of cream and sugar so the pre-made starbucks bottles are out. I guess I am going to have to get creative. I like the idea of bringing my own cups/straws but I don't think POP has a fridge. I'm stumped :(

My work around for ice coffee at WDW has been to carry coffee sticks and add those to cold water bottles. I had a lot of the same problems as PPs (hard to find, or "do-it-yourself" with hot coffee and ice cubes, or machines that added sugar/creamer that I didn't want). It's not an ideal solution, but better than the alternatives. And I like being able to carry a few with me wherever I go, it's faster since I'm not having to stand in line waiting for coffee (those SB lines can be awful), and I can grab a water from the fridge in my room in the mornings and "make" my coffee on the way to the parks. There are variety of options (I know SB has a line of its own products) - I usually go with Mount Hagen myself (fair trade and organic) and order from Amazon.

Starbucks Via packets might be options for some of you. I bring unsweetened and also frou frou flavors to make my own iced coffees using cold water on the fly.

I have purchased iced coffee at the Joffrey’s coffee stands in the parks.

I was just looking at the Starbucks Iced Coffee (Via) packets......anyone know if they are any good? Could be a perfect solution for me.

I use these all the time. I love them! They are perfect for at the resort. FYI Pop does have a fridge in the rooms.
Also, I second the Joffrey's kiosks. They have the plain iced coffee as well.

Pop has refrigerators in the rooms...

Pop does not have iced coffee machines at the beverage stations. They may have iced coffee where they do the specialty coffee drinks but I haven't personally looked. They DO have fridges in all the rooms.

Bringing a bottle or two of cold brew coffee may be an option, depending on how you get there. Some brands come in a carton, like what you'd generally see broth or shelf stable milk in, which would travel better if flying. Cold brew is concentrated, so you'd cut it with water to get the desired strength.

Joffrey's carts and Starbucks all have iced coffee options. I got a trenta cold brew daily from Starbucks on my last trip. (with 2 pumps chocolate and 1 pump classic sweetener and would add a splash of half & half myself because they don't sell a trenta iced mocha) I prefer cold brew over iced coffee.

They come black and unsweetened too! That’s what I get and just add my own fat free creamer and sweetener.

We've learned to get into our rental car and drive offsite to the Dunkin Donuts!

For at the resort, fill your mug with coffee at night and put it in the fridge in the room. In the morning go get ice.

I’m a big fan of cold brew coffee and on our last trip I found that the new coffee shop in the YC had good coffee at about Starbucks prices. On our next trip I’m going to take my cold brew pitcher and make it in the fridge overnight the day before which will be cheaper and better than anything I can find in the parks or resorts.

Warning about the Joffreys iced coffees: they are flavored and somewhat sweet (even if they're labeled black) so if you're used to, say, Starbucks black iced coffee it's just not the same! (I had the Joffreys coffee at the entrance to both AK and Epcot and both were... Not great.)

We have the same problem. I just want plain coffee (cream, please). No vanilla, pumpkins, pine-cones, maple or frogs. Just coffee.
