ice wine at le cellier

Wendy46001, your wedding pictures are simply Gorgeous! I'll have to try an Ice Wine Martini to go next trip . I am not fond of LeCellier, but would love to try the Martini. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the complement....I'll agree ...I only go for the cheese soup...but i can get a better steak/meal else where....

If you want to get a taste of the type of style it will be go to your local wine merchants and ask for a wine that was made using grapes sufferign from nobel rot, it is not the same, but a simialr porcess with taking the moisture out the grapes so the sugars are more concentrated.

I would suggest the ice wine martini if you are having it with your meal for the most part the actual glass of ice wine would not pair well with a meal you can however pair it with dessert so for the meal I would suggest the martini

That's what's so nice about the Food & Wine Fest. You can get the Cheese Soup and the Ice Wine without going into LeCellier. They have them at the booth every year I've been.

Just to let everyone know. Where I live is where they make alot of ice wine; but since we were getting 40's 50's and yes 60's degrees in weather right after the new year we lost ALL of the ice wine crop. We must have a deep freeze for the grapes and since it was to warm we (the county) lost them all. i'm sure now we will see an increase of price. But that's given. Lose your crop the price goes up. It's just like fruit. Florida loses their oranges to frost or a freeze and it effects all who eat them.

Proce of wine depends on where you live. Here in Asheville, NC we can get Inniskillon for between $20 and $25 per bottle. As for taste I can say I don't care to drink it without food as it is too sweet. But with a creme brulee it is very good.

If you find you like the ice wine you should really consider dinner at Artist Point they have a ice wine flight and one of them is a riesling(this one is super sweet even sweeter than Inniskillin). I even found one i like better than Inniskillin and it's cheaper.

I’ve tried both Plum Wine and Ice Wine and have to say they are quite different.

I love Ice Wine – Inniskillin is actually one of my favorites. It’s sweet but quite light and crisp. Plum Wine is another story though. I think the taste is more similar to cherry and syrupy. In short, Plum Wine isn't what I particularly care about.

I never tried Ice Wine Martini though. I think they mix it with some other hard liquor.. so I guess it’s more bitter?

I agree that Ice Wine and Plum Wine are very different. The syrupy consistancy of the plum is made worse when it is cold of course. The ice wine is not syrupy even when very cold!

The ice wine martini is made with top shelf vodka, 1oz of ice wine with 1 oz of vodka. shake with ice, and serve immediately in a chilled glass - YUMMY
