Does anyone know the names of the 3 varieties of ice wine they serve at Le Cellier. I am trying to find them at my local liquor store and they have quite a selection. I was hoping to try the variety I had while dining at Le Cellier.

Oh, just a side note, if anyone is thinking of having this during a meal, I would save it for a dessert drink. It is very sweet, but quite tasty :goodvibes

I read a thread about LC having Inniskillin Ice Wine which I had in Canada one time. It's yummy, but plan on dropping a bundle. Go Cats!!!!!!

I guess I should have been more specific, I know it's Inniskillin, but which type? Reisling? Thanks in advance.

I remember someone posting that it's kinda pricey - how pricey are we talking?

yum, that sounds good. I just might have to try one. Is it just a frozen drink?

I think that it is a reisling icewine that they serve. It is not a frazen drink as one poster asked it is wine and I think the icewine martini could be had with a meal but I agree straight icewine should only be had as a dessert by itself or with one but thats my opinion

Yes, it's a Reisling. I have a bottle patiently waiting in my wine rack for some special occassion so I can open it. :)

Anyone had that ice wine martini? I think I saw they had it but just wondered if I should try it or just go for a beer? What does it taste like - sweet, sour??? I like martinis but usually go for a sweet one like chocolate! :teeth:

How much is it by the glass, the martini, or just the wine by itself?

I snagged the drink menu in Dec.

The ice wine martini is 8.75 and the inniskillin ice wine, niagara '03 was 15.25 for a 3oa pour.

The other dessert wines were the guenoc port, the moscato and the indian summer l.h. riesling.

A bottle of the ice wine is 72.00 at Le Cellier.

I had the ice wine martini and it was ok, but not my usual taste. If you like the sweet ones, then skip this as it was only slightly sweet with more dry & sour tastes overall. I think it was around $8.50-9, we paid OOP for it as we were on the dining plan.

I asked what ice wine they served and was told it was 2004 Inniskillen Riesling. Here's the Inniskillen page for those that might be searching for these in your local store:
http://www.inniskillin.com/en/ice/default.asp?location=ice&TierID=5&AppellationID=3

I've had the Riesling, Cabernet Franc & CF Ruby Reserve and Vidal and all were really superb!

For those of you who are thinking of buying Ice wine. A local winery sells it. They suggest keeping it refrigerated and not let it get warm. It is good I think I bought a bottle for $32.00. It is a small bottle.

Thanks welovedis for the info on the ice wine martini. I think I will skip trying it and save that $8/9 for a sweet tropical drink at the Poly! :teeth:
