This sound silly, but how big are the free ice water cups? Ie should we bring water bottles to pour into I order to carry onto Rhodes or are they the tiny 6oz cups that everyone will drink in 10 seconds?

Are you supposed to but something in order yup get the free water?

Do they have it at carts our just counter service real restaurants?

I've only gotten it at Caseys in MK. The cups were pretty small and the water was horrible. What we've done is bring bottles in and fill them at the water fountains. I've found the water tastes much better from some water fountains than others so we fill up when we find a good one.

Unless a cart has a water source /fountain beverages it will be unavailable

You will be able to get free water without buying anything

I carry a 40 ounce Takeya ( Yeti knockoff ) with me. It will keep your water cold all day. As I walk past a stand where the lines aren't to long I ask for a cup of ice water and continually fill my container throughout the day. When we have a table service meal I'll make sure it's full before we leave the restaurant as well.

We go to WDW during the summer months when it's hot. Staying hydrated makes the trip much more enjoyable and less tiring.

Stop in at Starbucks they'll give you a venti sized (large) water for free. Pretty much anywhere in the parks besides the carts that only sell bottles will give you water for free. Don't bring a water bottle you'll be forced to carry around

We were able to get either size, regular or large
If they have a soda machine they dispense from the soda machine which is filtered water. Not tap water

If I ask for a cup of ice water, I'm almost always given a small cup of water with a couple of ice cubes in it. I will occasionally ask for a large cup of ice water.

We always bring bottles for water. My most recent trip, I didn't bring one. I wanted to try just stopping whenever I could and asking for a cup of ice water. I didn't last a day, and ended up spending a ridiculous amount on a cute bottle at Epcot.

You don't need to buy anything to get the free cups of ice water. I will typically get in a QS line and just order a cup or 2 of ice water, unless I notice a tray of cups already filled, then I will go directly to the counter and ask there.

The don't have it at carts - just QS locations. And it's good, filtered water. I like the self service locations best (BOG at MK, Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, Backlot Express at HS, and Satuli Canteen at AK - there might be others, but these are the ones I used on my most recent trip). I would also fill up at the resort whenever I was near the food court.

At the self service places, can you just go to the drink station and get water and leave or do you go through the check out line & tell them you just got water?

(I know this sounds like a silly question - I'm the person that buys something anytime I go in a fastfood restaurant to use the restrooms in order to not feel guilty)

We have asked for and received ice water and many different CS locations in all parks.

I just buy a bottle of water or an unsweetened ice tea when I'm thirsty. I find that easier.

I might do that on a cooler than normal day, but when it's hot I'll drink 200 + ounces of water per day. Those 20 ounce water bottles would be pretty costly over the course of a 90 degree plus per day week.

I hear ya. We never go from May - September to avoid the hottest and rainiest months.

I just go in and get the (mostly ice) water and leave, except at BOG - I don't think they'll let you in there without an ADR. I've never had an issue doing that and I've had several CMs noticing me doing it and they've never said anything besides hello.
